Is it easier to recover from an incident than a pattern?

First off I spend to much time in cheating threads but this has got me thinking.

Would anyone say that a relationship can recover easier from an cheating incident rather than a cheating pattern?

And yes I understand that everyone makes mistakes and all relationships are different.

I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on this.

But that's just me and a lasting reaction to life, such as it was, with the ex.

Any infidellity, whatsoever, is a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned. To my mind, a single incident is just the first in what will eventually be a pattern if let go.

I know there are those who ask how they can recover and mend the relationship after such an incident. I never respond because were I to do so I'd be asking them why they wanted to.

There are too many decent, loyal people out there with values and integrity to put up with someone whose morals and loyalties are so lacking.

As always, just one man's opinion!

Oh I agree.

Sure the trust it gone but it seems like more damage it done over a longer period of time.

I would say that one incident is easier to recover from, than continuous blows over a length of time. It also depends on whether you find out about the serial cheating in one fell swoop.

Since I have a hatred for cheating, I doubt I could continue a relationship with a cheater, regardless of numbers.
