I moved to the valley several years ago and ever since,

have had post nasal drip problems, sneezing, watery eyes,

stuffiness, i feel out of it, but bouts usually come and go

from season to season.

BUT...For the past 2 months, i've been stuffy every morning,

i sneeze a lot, bags under my eyes, i sleep really hard, wake up

wayyy out of it, a lot of headaches and I just can't seem

to shake it. Went to the doc 2 weeks ago and she barely

checked me out, just told me I should be drinking more

water, eating better, Vitamins, staying away from dust and

prescribed another nasal spray etc.

I feel like i have a head cold a lot of the time. and NOW,

i keep getting pretty severe headaches. It's annoying.

Anyone have these problems? Could i have an infection

in my head that's not going away? i'm getting sick of

taking Tylenol all the time for my headaches...

stuff i take( Nasacort Spray, Sudafed, Claritin, etc.)

George, I feel your pain. I too have suffered from allergies and have taken all the prescription medication and over the counter stuff and narrowed it down - the only things that truly work for me are Allegra and Benadryl.

I've had the nasal sprays and took Sudafed, Claritin, etc. Allegra takes a few days to work and although Benadryl makes me groggy - I swear it is the ONLY thing that dries up postnasal drip.

My pharmacist told me to even take two Benadryl capsules at a time so I began doing that and it does clear up my postnasal drip. Claritin did nothing but Allegra seems to really help.

I live in Houston and between the tree and grass pollen and the pollution I suffer from allergies constantly (along with the entire city of Houston). I know how you feel - it's exhausting fighting allergies and the postnasal drip always seems to kick into gear when I'm at work and causes me to have horrific coughing fits which are pretty embarrassing. If I'm not on Benadryl during my allergy attacks I basically can't function because I'm draining like a faucet!

Good luck - take the Benadryl - I promise you I've tried EVERYTHING and that is the only thing that dries up the postnasal drip and drainage.
