skeletonindacloset Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Explain your first time "I love you's" and how they went. Did it just fall out of your mouth? Did you wait long to say anything? Did you plan an occassion around it? How did you take when they said "yeah, well I think you suck"? Please share your experiences with me.

It slipped out and I was lucky he felt the same way. As for the "well I think you suck," that's just mean. Who would say that? Did that happen to you?
Author skeletonindacloset Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 No one said that to me. I guess my humor may lack cooth at times. I just wondered how it went for those who didn't experience a warm "I love you" back.

I think with my last ex...he was the one who said it first... with my first ex... in 18 years, he said it only once: when he knew I was leaving him... it was too late. But my favourite is when he doesn't actually say it but show it... like giving me a nice trip or a nice teddy bear with 1 gran in it... LOL...
katiebour Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I waited and waited until I couldn't hold it in anymore (about 6 mos in)- we were cuddling and I said it. I knew he was hypersensitive to those words and didn't expect it back. We talked about it a bit, and I told him I didn't need to hear it back right away. It took him another year to finally say it to me- and he's only said it once. I knew what to expect so I wasn't too surprised at not hearing it back- I keep the saying of those words to a minimum, even now, because it's easier than wondering if I'm gonna hear it back. I did heckle a little bit at about a year or so because I was really wondering when he was gonna spit it out. But he shows it in a million little ways, every day, so I've kind of gotten used to not hearing it.
