So I started a new job in December and one of my bosses is kindof a jerk, most people will agree. I usually get the feeling that he does not like me.

Well, today we were discussing options for a new conference room and what type and size of conference table we wanted. I kindly pointed out that we needed to make sure that on either side of the tables or desk we leave 3 feet as an egress path. Then he goes, isn't that a bird (kind of haha, you're an idiot) and I said, no... that is the correct term. So I was thinking and what he got confused was egress with Egret (bird) and the passive aggresive side of me wants to go in his office and tell him that. So I thought it would just be better to vent here instead.

Thanks for listening.

You know, I've had more idiot bosses than I care to remember...... Here's what you do. Whenever he says something stupid just picture Bugs Bunny sitting on your shoulder eating a carrot and whispering in your ear "What a MAROON!".

It pays to never let them see you sweat and the best thing to do is always just remain calm and mature. They all end up hanging themselves sooner or later.

That is great...I think I will have to permantly keep that picture in mind. So many of the people I work with are just jerks in general. One of our managers just got a new suite so I am trying to setup a full conference room, 14' table, chairs, projector and screen, phone lines, cabinets etc by June 11th, they have to be ordered and installed for a meeting with our customers. I have been trying to get the Manger to help me with what he needs/wants and he just won't. So I know someone is working on his PC so I take this opp to ask him about it (he can't say no, I have work because his PC is broken right now) so I ask him if he saw my e-mails about the conference room and one other about some notes I need him to review and he tells me his PC is being worked on so I say okay, lets talk about it now and he goes, well I have a Latte on my desk that is getting cold. I say, okay this will take two min. (the notes are 4 sentances) so he looks at them and gives me the okay. Then about the table, he goes, this is not one of my priorities right now. I said, thats fine, but I need an answer since June 11th is only two weeks away and we have to order all these items and have them installed. Again he says, I don't care what we order if it's a cost issue check with * our boss.

Then yesterday I was trying to measure the conference room so I go over to there suite and I start to walk to his desk and he says, I am busy..."hey * will you give * a hand real quick" and that guy goes, "ummm, welllllll...." Then at that moment this vendor we have in (a very important client) goes, I will help you.

I kind of blew it and said very loud, "Thanks, an actual nice person."

So I am not sure how to handle my co-workers. Most of them are so spoiled and moody.

See, now, that's where my mouth would have kicked in before my brain. I would have quipped "You're right! We only need two feet to emuuuuve"

Sometimes 'jerks' try to bond and lighten the moment too. :p

Yup.

Just got my first job 3 days ago.

I get the feeling that my boss hates me, but then I remember the rule that applies to me:

I can't be fired, slaves are sold.
