I don't know what causes "twitchy eye syndrome" and I get it pretty frequently myself. I don't think mine has ever lasted for weeks, but definitely for days.

My mother used to say it was indicative of not getting enough sleep. Since many of us live sleep deprived lives there could be some truth in that.

Hope it stops, NOW!

Eye twitching can be very annoying. I've been dealing with it since 99. It started as a sporadic twitch but worsened over the years. It can be attibuted to many things such as too much caffeine, stress, lack of sleep, staring at a PC screen too long, or neurolgical issues.

I had MRI and the doctor could not find anything wrong. So, I scaled back on the caffeine and I've learned to control my stress levels. It has helped a lot. The spasms are not as obvious anymore.

So... has it stopped, yet? And how are you dealing with all the unwanted boy attention?

Silly me. Some of them might be "hits."

my younger brother who is an oculo-plastic surgeon says these are common among people. its just a muscle spasm not unlike you'd get in any other part of the body. sometimes i get them and they last for a few days and then go away.

my eye finally has stopped twitching!

i have attributed it to the stress of my move this past saturday. now that is done, and my eye is calm... yay!

my BF eye used to twitch and he cut back on caffeine and it stopped.

I used to get that at University - so I am pretty sure it was stress related for me. At one point (during a Calculus mid-term go figure?) I thought I was having a stroke!! My eye was twitching uncontrollably and then the whole RH side of my face was twitching and eventually it all went numb. It took me off my stride for a bit - but I did regroup! You should have seen the looks I got from the Prof!

Sounds like Bell's Palsy or maybe Hemifacial spasms. Hope it's gone for good.

I think it's caused by cancer.

well i spoke too soon about the absence of the twitch... it is back, or just off and on rather.

Now I kinda think it may have to do with allergies. Yesterday I was out at the pool all day, and it was spasming with a vengeance, but I also noticed a good amount of pollen in the pool water.

it was better this morning, but it is starting to twitch slightly now.
