gleason Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 :sick:we had been in a LTR for greater than 12yrs., the last 4 long distance, however, we visited every 2-3months. Staying behind to care for an ill parent, I was overwhelmed with responsibilities, work, etc. It was intended that I would move with him, marry him soon. In jan., I had mentioned my desire to marry and join him soon, of course, i was still at the time depended on for my parent's care. we had talked on phone, e-mail several times throughout jan., feb., with no apparent conflicts. come begining of march, i received a break-up e-mail, very brief...just not into me anymore, etc. very superficial reasons. he had ignored my attempted calls for some understanding, no further e-mails, etc. for 6 wks. it was at that time, i learned that he had become engaged "almost immediately" (per him), after dating someone for a "couple of months". can someone truly move on that quickly? fall in love and become engaged "almost immediately". can someone truly be over and heal from a LTR that soon, and be ready for a serious relationship such as that? i would believe such a committment takes some time to develop, not immediately. i would have to believe he may have tired of the LDR, the waiting and is jumping into another relationship, and marriage(something he had wanted). what is up with this? plus, how can someone be so cold and cowardly not to even explain the situation after so many yrs., why ignore calls. do people really believe the dumpee can just say..ok after a brief e-mail and move on without any form of explanantion. do people really get over a relationship so soon? has any of you jumped into a trelationship and married months after a break-up????? what are you thinking as far as the one you left behind? thoughts? i am having a hard time coping with this, as it is such a shock. help!!!!!!!
