LoveLace Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 If you love a platonic-other-sex unconditionally, does it mean you are in love or does it mean you them like family? I'm talking about someone you've known a long time and consider yourself close to.
HokeyReligions Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 There is no such thing as unconditional love, except for parent/child.
Author LoveLace Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 But if you love someone no matter what they do bad or good, and they are just a friend, that's unconditional love in my eyes. What I question is what about when it's a friend of the opposite sex that this pertains to. Does that make you "in love" with them?

Unconditional love, as far as I'm concerned apply exclusively to a child... Only a child can hurt you and you will always love him no matter what... it doesn't apply to family or friends IMO.
Author LoveLace Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 I love my roommate. But we're not romantically involved. I've known a long long time and i don't know how to approach him, cuz I'm worried he has a drug problem, I don't know what extent it is, but I'm pretty sure its there. And just because I'm moving out in August doesn't mean I don't care about him. I love him dearly I just don't know how much; I know its enough to be very worried about him right now.
