Okay, here is my Guns'n'Roses dilemma.

In more simple terms, if you bought tickets to a concert before a relationship ended, each taking one ticket, what is the best way to handle the situation?

*I might mention it is in another state and we both always stay at the same hotel, so there is also this situation to weigh in*

Obviously they are seats next to one another, so to avoid an uncomfortable situation on the night, should I phone first and clear the air?

We are both huge fans so there is no chance of either of us giving up the tickets

On a more personal note:

Those that know of me and my story you would know I am a reporter for a local station here and my ex is a record producer with plenty of music contacts.

He said he could quite easily organise a quick backstage interview with Axle Rose for me. :bunny:

We left on reasonable terms (I guess) but do you think I am kidding myself to expect this offer to still stand?!:love:

I have been putting this off for so long, now I need my wonderful LS friends to suggest how I broach this potentially disasterous situation!

I have been in that situation myself. Lucky for me there were six of us going and the seating was general admission, not assigned. It was much easier that way, and we did still all sit together and had a great time. It wasn't uncomfortable, probably due to being in a group.

The backstage thing....I wouldn't "expect" it or probably even bring it up, but I'd jump at the chance if it materializes anyway.

I really don't think I would like Mr. Rose, and can't imagine G-N-R with him as the sole original member, but I would meet him if I had the opportunity!

Have a great time, PA! (aka Ms. stunning feet :))

Thanks DDR.

I have heard he is really off-his-rocker lately.

I will bring the equipment in my purse if the situation does arise.

I would love to ask him why it has taken him 10 years to release Chinese Democracy and the World Tour.

What has he been doing? Apart from Cocaine.

In all seriousness though, I am pretty sad about the whole damn situation.

I fear it will bring back memories of how much fun we used to have.

I am sure my ridiculous female sentimental thoughts will put a bit of a dampener on the night :(

Hm. Too bad I'm not your ex. Then you wouldn't be bothered at all about it.

Hahaha, lateral thinking.

I like it

And Johan is right on top of you now, with no problems.

I'm more of a horizontal thinker.

then that is your answer...there is nothing you can do except be uncomfortable and go or be comfortable an not go. Also, remember that Mr. Rose's first name is spelled "Axl" and not "Axle".

I did notice this after I posted it :/

Lets just call him what his mama did, William.

So should I call him first to clear the air?

Arrange transportation there together?

Urghhh, I just hate this situation.

It is so messy.

I went to see them in June last year, Izzy Stradlin showed up, so that's TWO original members, not to mention Mr Dizzy Reed, he's the Dude, but anyways...

I would just play it by ear, if you ended on reasonable terms it can't be that bad sitting next to him for a couple of hours, assuming Axl doesn't wait all night to take to the stage that is. To be honest, my sister was next to me throughout the whole gig, didn't even notice she was there half the time, could have been anybody :)

As for the interview, screw it, you might as well ask!
