Can'tGiveUp Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I just met a friend for coffee...listened to her for almost an hour going on about her marriage. I know she was just having a bad day and venting but...WOW! I don't miss being married. My biggest issue lately has been whether the new guy I have been dating was going to call again or not (he did ). That was much less frustrating than the days/weeks/months/years in an unhappy marriage. Just listening to her brought it all back - the living with a person who seems to have no concern for you or your feelings. Hearing her say that if they didn't have kids, they wouldn't still be together. Remembering how long I hung in there just for the kids... The fights that never happened because 'little ears' were around. So, while I may b*tch about the whole dating scene and the uncertainty of dating life, I will try and keep it in perspective. I have been in a worse place...and I never want to be there again.
Teddy and Jane Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I guess you could say that, but my sister has been married for 10 years and she and her husband are very happy and wouldn't have it any other way. So, there's another perspective for 'ya.

For the record I was married almost 13 years and my sister would have said exactly what you did. Yet another perspective... Marriage isn't easy, and when you become the only one working on it, it sometimes becomes damn near impossible. Dating is a walk in the park in comparison.
