Storyrider Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I keep having to pick at this thread like a scab. Here's the other thing. If you have real relationships and people depending on you, you can only live in your own little world so much. Things start to go to hell. People need you. So you have to come out of it occasionally, just to pay the bills and do the laundry, listen to your children, be loving to others. Maybe it is hard. But that is what having relationships means. Or, if you keep your life super simple, and prevent anyone from getting too close to you, then you can afford to descend into your own little world whenever people's expections begin to get overwhelming. Once you are fully immersed in your own little world, any of those pesky people with expections who happen to be buzzing around will soon get tired of trying, stop expecting things, and fly away. Then, when the urge to resurface hits you, you can start all over charming fresh people with no expectations. That is how it is for people who truly live in their own little world. And they like it that way.

Storyrider Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I love being in my own little world, nothing like a pain killer some booze and my first cigarette since October, life is good, god I hate mothers day. Can I bum a cigarette?
Great Gazoo Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Can I bum a cigarette? Sure as long as du Maurier works for you but you better hurry, 2 down and a pack to go.
Storyrider Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Sure as long as du Maurier works for you but you better hurry, 2 down and a pack to go. Du Maurier? Is that a French brand, like what John Lennon smoked? What were those, Gitannes? Ha, when I hear Du Maurier, I think of Manderley and Rebecca. Sure, I'll try one. Pass the lighter.

Sorry don't have a lighter, just matches and they are not a French brand but they are Canadian, so puff away.
Great Gazoo Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Ha, when I hear Du Maurier, I think of Manderley and Rebecca. I had to google that part, so I guess you must like the famous line, Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again. It seemed to me I stood by the iron gate leading to the drive and for a while I could not enter, for the way was barred to me sounds like a interesting book.

And also a classic movie. All about mistaken perceptions about people and their pasts. Puff, puff. Cough. (Haven't had a cigarette in probably a year.)

(Haven't had a cigarette in probably a year.) Yeah I just read about the movie, 1940 and a Hitchcock movie at that, I really should watch some of these classic movies and please don't cough too much, you might turn blue.

Is it Cary Grant? Mmm. Nicotine buzz. Nice. Who knew a virtual cigarette could be this good? What did you say you're drinking?
Great Gazoo Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Is it Cary Grant? Mmm. Nicotine buzz. Nice. Who knew a virtual cigarette could be this good? What did you say you're drinking? No Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. My nicotine buzz is not virtual and I will pay for it later. My drink of choice is Bacardi Big Apple, apple rum liquor with Mountain Dew as a mix, good to the last drop. Don't tell me you want to bum a drink also
