ilmw Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Happy Mother's Day! .. You beat me to it.. I third that... To all the ladies on here... who have "Manned Up" and maintain something real for their kiddies.. I admire and respect you all. ilmw
Ladyjane14 Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Thanks guys. For me... I'm having a leisurely morning, followed by some puttering around in the garden. My favorite present from the kids now that they're older... is some good old-fashioned elbow grease. So, I see some edging and weed-pulling in a couple of young folks' immediate futures!

I do feel sorry for the people your children date and/or eventually marry ~ they don't have a chance! Go ahead and a4a them!!! (stick a fork in them ~ they're done!)
mammax3 Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 We had a nice big breakfast and played outside. Now they're sleeping oh so peacefully and I'm about to have a nap too! I hope all you mothers have had as nice a day as me!

I do feel sorry for the people your children date and/or eventually marry ~ they don't have a chance! Go ahead and a4a them!!! (stick a fork in them ~ they're done!) I've got GREAT kids. Don't get me started talking about how fabulous they are or we'll be here ALL DAY! :bunny: Honestly though, I think as a parent... you've got to have their values instilled by the time they're 12. What's at the core of a person doesn't usually change much. So, if you believe it's wrong to shoplift candy at age 5, you're still gonna be thinking it's wrong at 95. We talk, and talk, and talk. And it's paid off so far. I've got to say though, knowing what I know about relationships now... I can't help but be concerned that even though I'm already working on premarital education with them, I've got no reason to believe they'll marry partners who are likewise informed. I guess all I can do is to make them understand the need to make wise choices when they select their partners.
Jinxx Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 A day late but thank you! Yesterday was one of the best Mother's Day ever for me.
