So I have been in NC with my xOW for since the first of the year. I work at the same company although in different offices. I have done my best to not contact her by phone or by email and until today I have been completely successful. I got a call from someone who had her in her office and she put me on speaker! Now I acted as though the xOW wasnt in the room and talked only to the person who called me. During the conversation the xOW said nothing at all except when she was asked a question by the person who called me.

She answered in such a low tone of voice that I could hardly hear her but from what I could gather from her tone she almost sounded angry, pissed off even. I will admit that when I found out she was in the room with the person calling me, my heart raced and I got very nervous. I did however act very professionally and did my job. It seems to me that NC was not violated but I wanted the opinion of the group to see if you all agree or not.

Anyway, let me know what you all think,

NL

This situation was out of your control, so NC wasn't broken in the sense of you contacting her.

On a negative note though, you reacted both emotionally and physically to knowing she was there...Again, out of your control. Either way, you handled it well and stayed professional.

Now, what you need to do is stay strong. She MAY try to contact you, so if she does, ignore her completely. Email? Ignore it. A phone call? Don't answer (hopefully you have call display) or if you do answer, tell her you're busy and can't talk, then hang up the phone. I hope she leaves you alone.

Agree wtih this and additionally, when you work for the same company, NC will be impossible at times. I had to work with XMM one evening last week which is very rare. We're still friends but for me it is best to avoid him whenever possible.
