phyrespryte Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 If so, what's the weather like right now? I'm going to spend the weekend there and don't know if I should pack some sweaters. Is it as windy as they say it is? According to the weather channel, it's in the mid 70s. That sounds pretty warm to me.
burning 4 revenge Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 This reminds me of another thread I responded to once. It makes me sad
Author phyrespryte Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 ^ Sorry? I don't have a proper frame of reference. It's been years since I've lived somewhere without humidity. So 70 means tank tops and shorts for me.
norajane Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 It's supposed to be in the upper 60's over the weekend. Bring some sweaters as it will be cooler at night. The 'windy' is a reference to the politicians, not weather. Although people think it refers to the weather. It does get windy downtown in the winter when wind tunnels can form from the tall buildings. And there are occasional tornadoes way out in the cornfield suburbs. It's no windier here than in any other city. Summers here can be very humid. But it's spring, so it varies...hot and humid one day, rainy another, sunny and clear another.
Author phyrespryte Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 Ok, so I've included some sweaters. Thanks for explaining the 'windy' part, Norajane. I feel kind of silly now.

iknowimpretty Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I don't know about it being windy right now unless you're by the lake. i live downtown and it's pretty darn hot here. maybe that's because my building doesn't have AC right now though. Seems like shorts and tshirt weather to me though!
Author phyrespryte Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Well I was in the Loop and I'm so grateful that I brought sweaters and a jacket. It was ridiculously cold and windy to me. But then I live in Florida, I suppose anywhere else is windier...well when we're not having hurricanes.

I wonder if you were there for the same reason. I am only about 4 hours outside of Chi-town and we pretty much get the same weather. It did get cooler at night, but during the day was alright. Chicago rocks!
Author phyrespryte Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Acutally I went there to meet an online friend for the first time. The timing couldn't have been more perfect since we were right on time for an arts festival. Looptopia! Actually it was kind of cheesy, but we had lots of fun running around trying to find things. The art institute was mind blowing, so was the architecture. So I completely agree with you. Chicago is awesome!
