KaneNAbel Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I've been doing this online dating thing and met this girl where we've been emailing back and forth almost everyday. Just the last email she said "I just realized how far you are from me". We're about 35 miles apart. My question is: How far would someone have to live from you to be a deal breaker?
Art_Critic Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 To me it is more about travel time than miles Anymore than 40-45 mins would be a deal breaker for me.. The reality is that when 2 people have busy lives to come up with more time than 1.5-2 hrs travel time per day to see each other would make it tough to get to know someone. Now.. I do also think that where the workplace is can play in to that as well.. My work is situated that most of the women I have dated only live 15 mins away from work or 30 mins from my home.. I once dated a girl that lived in the sticks from my house.. 30 mins to her house then 30 mins anywhere for food then 30 mins back to her house then 30 mins back home.. That was 2 hours travel time just for dinner.. and she only lived 20 miles away..
kepners Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 hahaha 35miles! that how far i have to travel to work everyday! AHAHAH thats nothing, if 35miles to either of you is a dig deal then forget it. to me. 70miles isnt far! i serious went out with a woman that far from me, we had great weekend together. but its your crossword puzzle. for me its not an issue. like age not an issue
Shizz Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 All the ladies I know live in the nearby City, which takes me 30 minutes to travel to. As such I rarely ever do things on the fly. I usually have to arrange my dates, or call after work.
Trialbyfire Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 If I can fly there in a couple of hours, it would be no big deal considering my old commutes could easily last 1.5 hours one-way for less than 30 kms... It's why I used to commute with my auto-tranny car. I think it depends on where you live. If you live in a metropolis and are accustomed to extended lengths of time for daily use, LDR has a whole other meaning.
