I've been thinking, and here is where I see the difference between men and women on this issue. If a man meets a woman he is not attracted to, it is on the surface, he can't ignore it, there is simply no attraction. He goes with his gut and doesn't pursue it.

With a woman, I think her perceptions are more ambivalent and muddy. She may feel an initial attraction to his personality even if the physical chemistry is not there. She might tally up his good points and go with the flow because of them. Unfortunately, months or years down the road, she may suddenly admit to herself that the emotional connection isn't enough and she needs the physical. The guy knows that from the get go and judges accordingly. Some women are not as in touch with their primal needs. Obviously there are exceptions, blah, blah, blah...

Ideally, a woman with no love handles, who's thighs don't rub together and who's arms don't jiggle much.

On the other end of the scale, for me there is no "too thin" to date really... except for the obvious anorexics that appear on tv.

Exactly. Perfect example of settling. Most of my female friends that are in long term relationships say things like "I can't exactly say I ever felt that spark, but he is so nice, stable, good job etc". Or that it's much more important to have a man that takes care of you than physical chemistry. Or out of the options I had, he was the best one, and I wanted to get married. Or I really had to push myself through the first 6 motnhs, but now I got used to him. That just makes me sad.

With men, it's much more striaght forward, if he is not attracted to the woman, he won't be able to umm perform and there is no relationship.

I thought I would clarify something that was mentioned more than once in this thread.

Guys aren't always straight-forward with what they say but their actions are very straight-forward. This is a very important difference.

This is true of both genders, IMHO.

I'm not sure I agree with that and my opinion will not be popular but it is only my opinion.

I find that some, not all, very young women can be confusing in both words and actions.

young women are utterly brutal in not knowing what they want or need...

and to touche! honey, you where making some superb posts, i couldnt work out if you was getting annoyed from one post to the next! you go girl, you tell us we are shallow! and you know what, its the way we are made to be shallow and to find many women attractive and desirable. i mean you women are all desirable... unless your 5foot and 21stone...

Thin models are product of confused homosexuals in model industry...16yo boys look is very appealing to them I guess :)

Scientificaly proved measures are WAIST/HIPS = approx 0.7 . Curves with this rate are viewed as attractive. So your belly shouldnt be bigger than your hips.

Women should have more fat than men. Flat stomachs and protruding ribs are not sexy and certainly not healty, especially not for a future mother.

I'm so happy my boobs don't stick out further than my stomach at this point. :) That just made my morning. :)

I've recently given up on having a "type." I think getting divorced might have affected my typical process, because at this point, if he has a sense of humor and is charming, all I can seem to think is, "Hey, you're fun! Wanna wrestle?" :) It may just be a phase.

I know you're trying to make apoint, but come on. No one said these things to you. It's a crock that you made up to try to add fuel to your opinion. People just dont say that.

Oh well you obviously never had close friends that confide everything in you. Or even not so close friends after they had few drinks. I know more about people's realtionships than I ever care to, but then again it's a nice feeling when they trust you with their secrets. Kind of sad you never experienced it. :(

That's because Rosie O'Donnell's not curvy, she's fat. :D

I do believe she's the perfect example of what's inside affecting what's outside. Look at her ... she's not horrid or anything, and has an attractive, puppy-dog looking face, but let the personality come out, and she becomes dog-butt ugly because she's so damned pushy and rude.

Rosie looks like a pig to me. I don't mean fat, but her face kind of looks piggy.

What a hell is dicky-doos?

I love that rule- tummy not sticking out further than boobs.

My boobs are not that big, and still my tummy is well behind them.

Yee ha!!!

Some have them comfortably rested on the tummy...sometimes as far as belt. So we need another rule.

Oh yes. The great migration. Sorry if that offends anyone.

well....... don't know because a bra can make a BIG difference in this respect.

IE hoisting them up.

I don't even need to wear a bra. But I would never ever get them enhanced.
