I love girls that know how to cook but the most important thing I care most about is the effort or process as she tries to cook if she doesn't know how to cook. If I ask a girl that I'm dating, Yo let's cook something but you come up with the recipes and I'll get the ingredients on a limited budget. If she has a hard time or seems reluctance, she ain't wife material. Remember little princesses, It's about the effort/process.

To the woman that proudly states "i'm a breadwinner" or other women who say "cooking shall not define me" , that is pathetic. Cooking is a skill for both men and women. From where I come from: It is fun when you have two people cook or attempt to do it together. Listen honey baby, I work 50-60 hours a week and yet I still am willing to make time for my girl and I do cook believe it or not for myself. I dated a girl that was accusing me of making her a slave (I suggested that she make a delicious sandwich for the both of us to go out for a picnic and I'll take care of the rest.) Low and behold the dating ended for me and her soon after.

The thing I learned most about relationships (whether platonic, business, or romantic) is that you either "compete" or "cooperate." You want to associate yourself with those that cooperate.

I don't cook for my bf because I do not enjoy cooking not because I think I am a princess. I'd rather go pick up food from somewhere then spend 30 minutes cooking something. Now if he ever wanted to cook together then

that wouldn't be so bad but for him to expect me to cook for him would be wrong.

And how does a women not cooking mean she isn't "wife material."

It would also bother me if the expectation is that just because I'm the woman, I have to cook. In a situation like that, I would gently walk him into the kitchen and show him where everything was located. Then I would go to the family room, locate the remote and start surfing sports channels...

I am an independent woman and make good money. I am not cooking for anyone ALL THE TIME. I expect us to take turns or cook together.

Let me guess, your favorite game is "tit for tat?"

If I were him i'd scoot out the back door and go to taco bell for dinner. Then i'd go home and let you find your own dinner.

its ok but i like taco hell better ....either way the women should be doing most of the cooking in the home.

I do that but it's because I enjoy cooking. If it were a chore due to expectation, you can bet the man will be eating fast food if he can't pull his weight.

well since the man has to give up all his freedom and independence for her the least the woman can do is cook and clean and take care of the house and stuff.

And a woman doesn't give up her freedom and independence? Right...

hahaha its women mostly who are wanting to get married. its all thats on their mind since they're born. hahaha. you should see some of these never married women in their late 30s trying to find a husband. its HILARIOUS...they're running around like chickens with their heads cut off! then they want to have kids and sheeyot. hahaha. its common knowledge the man gives up 90% for marriage and women gives up 10%. MARRIAGE BENEFITS WOMEN MOSTELY so least she can do is to cook and clean and stuff.

Since I currently see no advantage to marriage for a woman, if anything, see it as a disadvantage of wasted emotional investment, I'll disagree.

Ha ha! Good one P!

Funny, but my H asked me to marry him 4 weeks after we met. I was still legally married (separated) and marriage was the furthest thing from my mind.

Thats why they're so superficial and picky. God forbid you're not a knight in shining armor and have some physical and emotional imperfections

Do you know how to cook for him? I know you do... but I thought that I would be the first to ask.

Yes, of course. I love to cook. And he loves that I can cook.

I've yet to meet a perfect man although I've fallen in love with a few who are very imperfect... ;)

Like I said before I don't think that a woman needs to have dinner on the table every night but if she thinks it is beneath her to perform a kind gesture for the man she promised to love why is it even worth to be married to her?

If you love your man then you should have no problem showing him by making him a nice meal as long as he appreciates it and does not take it for grantid.

A good meal is like foreplay

Why should the women be the one to become a slave? Just because she is female does not put her into the role of household maid. As for "giving up freedom".... what exactly does the man give up that is so wonderful?

How does cooking equal love? Especially when both people get home from work at the same time why should the man go sit down and relax while the women does more work?

Why is it even worth being mattied to a man who can't feed himself everyday?

If she sucks as a cook though, you're better off without it

Exactly. This is one of the many things that should be shared by both. Cooking should not be limited to one person.
