When I got married, I promised myself that unless I was pregnant or nursing that I would be the same weight I was at the wedding at every anniversary. So, in the next 3 weeks I've got to lose 8 lbs. (I actually have a bit longer to the anniversary, but we will be going out of town so I want to get it off before that.) Anyone want to diet with me for the next 3 weeks?

I'd like to lose a couple of pounds, bab.

I don't own a scale ha ha. :o But I think I weigh about 127? I don't think I can make it down to 120, but I wouldn't mind getting closer to it.

How were you planning to diet? My main ideas were:

--drastically reduce bread and pasta intake

--eat less at dinner (I tend to pig out)

--no desert except authorized at home (I eat 1 square of dark chocolate at 30 calories or a sugar free fudg-sicle at 40 calories.)

A temporary diet doesn't work.

Changing your lifestyle permanently does.

I'm sure you know what you "should" be doing:

- Exercise

- Eat 6 times a day, smaller portions

- Low carbs and only in the first half of the day

- High protein

- Restrict all the "ose" - Glucose, Lactose, Fructose (yes, fruit!)

My plan is to restrict calorie intake and up my exercise. I couldn't possibly do the low carb thing, just overall low calorie. Yogurt for breakfast ~ 150 calories.

For lunch a large salad (not greens, but something with some sort of bean to help fill me up) about 450 calcories, and about an 800 calorie dinner. I'm mostly following recipies out of Cooking Light and Eating Well, which makes me excited about what's for dinner (and whatever side salad we have whatever is left over becomes my lunch for the next day). Something that should make more of a difference is that I've switched to diet soft drinks. Okay, only diet Dr. Pepper because that's the only one that I still think is worth drinking.
