Well its been 4 months since the ex and I broke up, and within this time we tried to be friends but that failed. So this morning whilst I was in bed my house phone rang, but as I was so tired I couldn't be bothered to answer it. The phone rang again a few minutes after, so I jumped out of bed thinking it could be some sort of family emergency.

Anyway I pick up and I say hello and theres obviously someone on the end of the line who doesn't say anything. I say hello again but the person stays quiet and suddenly hangs up the phone. For a split second I assume its my ex trying to get in contact with me.Then a few minutes later I get a text message on my mobile phone, with surprise surprise - my ex with no actual message but his mobile number.

This has obviously thrown me a bit as we did not really part on the best of terms. Now I'm sitting here thinking what his intentions are? I'm wondering if he misses me, or if this is some kind of stalking behaviour, or whether he wants to talk, but he's just scared considering everything thats happened.

Would appreciate what anyone thinks

I'm leaning towards everything but the stalking behavior....

"surprise surprise" is kinda creepy come childish if you ask me. Whatever his intentions best ignore the whole thing until/unless he contacts you 'properly' and proposes talking. At which time if that's what you want you say yes.

This phoning, hangng up - texting is only to push you into taking the intiative to contact HIM if only to ask what he wants...

Thanks for the replies:)

Reckless I totally agree with you.I have moved on from the relationship, so I know that there will be no chance of a reconciliation. But for a grown man to play like this I find pretty sad.
