Author Mary3 Posted April 27, 2007 Author Posted April 27, 2007 I'm not going to argue and I'm not trying to attack you, you are free to post whatever you want, I was just stating an opinion. I believe what I said to be true but you can disregard it, it's just another opinion. Okay thank you to all that offered their best opinions and to you Allina. I don't like arguing either

I believe what I said to be true but you can disregard it, it's just another opinion. Actually, I would like to point out I think it was a very good idea to put 'Obese' in the subject title because when I search the threads I do a 'most recent post' and not by subject. If 'Obese' was not in it, I would have missed it and I am glad I didnt because I lost quite a bit of weight and I am interested in the subject and have many good tips. So THANK YOU for putting OBESE in the subject and do a similar thing again. Its always better to be more verbose than less, so as to avoid miscommunication.

What tips would you like to offer the readers ? I had a guy friend at work who lost 100 lbs !! I kid you not. He is like 225 and 6 foot 2....now. I actually liked the larger teddy bear look. He is getting too thin , lol. If you look back on my former posts I do say I like big guys. I like between 200 to 250 , muscular with some fat is okay

Enema Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 LucreziaBorgia is on the money, obese people know why they're obese, they just don't want to admit it as it. A few fat people in this thread sound somewhat bitter.
allina Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 A few fat people in this thread sound somewhat bitter. How can you tell who in this thread is fat and who isn't?
directx Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Thats awesome ! Tell me more... What tips would you like to offer the readers ? I had a guy friend at work who lost 100 lbs !! I kid you not. I like between 200 to 250 , muscular with some fat is okay The best thing I think I can say to anyone is You have to find what works for you. This is a strong point because EVERYONE is different. So your solution will be different. So anything I have to say is what worked for ME. 1. Looked at myself honestly to figure out why I was overweight. In my case it was eating bad stuff and no exercise and cheating when I did diet. 2. Weighed myself EVERYDAY and wrote down my weight at work where I could always see it. I kept a chart too. This helped me because now I could immediately see the effect of when I ate bad or got no execise. 3. Find a physical activity that you will do often and ENJOY. Dont buy the exercise bike if you hate it. It takes inhuman discline to continue to do something you have no interest in. Me? I joined a martial art and in the process made many new friends. (THIS IS HARD THING TO FIND - AN ACTIVITY THAT YOU WILL ENJOY) 4. Make good food replacements. What I mean is I would eat a package of donuts for breakfast and think nothing of it. I wasnt in LOVE with the donuts, I just wanted something to eat. So I discovered flavored rice cakes. I was just as satisfied and saved a ton of calories. So take time and find food replacements for your bad eating habits. 5. Cut your calories and portions slowly. 6. Eat the stuff that is bad for you in moderation. Dont restrict yourself entirerly. 7. Pick a quiet exercise to do while watching tv (if thats what you do). Like, I lift weights during commercials. 8. Cut sugar intake. 9. ELIMINATE high fructose corn syrup 6 days a week. This is all stuff that works for ME. Its all done over a period of time and not done in any dramatic event. I have other tips and this is the jist of it. Ive been going strong 10 months.

Enema Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 It's pretty obvious who is... allina RP directx (was or is) without looking too closely at it.
allina Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 It's pretty obvious who is... allina RP directx (was or is) without looking too closely at it. Nice try I'm not even close to being overweight, much less obese.
agnf666 Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 There is overwieght girl at work and she told me the reason she is fat is because *pure stress* adds pounds. She says she has no fears, no addictions ( how about food addiction ? ) Its the heart attack zone for her being like 5 foot 2 and 250 lbs. So is it true that * stress alone * could make her fat ? . Maybe she is stressed or depressed and I hope she isn't on this forum reading about this and figures out it is her. In which, would probably make her more depressed in the long run. I understand your question.. Not putting you down about the whole thing... but all you could have said instead of pointing her out was "Does Stress alone make you overwieght?" Stress can make you overwieght, Depression, Low Self Esteem, Your DNA (It has been proven). It can be a number of things... Maybe a help problem. I know overwieght people that don't eat all the things that people claim them to be eatting and be overwieght.
alphamale Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I think if you watch very overweight people eating habits you will see they eat large amounts...and some blame it on everything but the food they are shoving down their throats. obesity is caused by many factors M3....genetic, environmental, medical, psychological, blah blah blah. You should have watched that show on PBS, it covered this exact subject. I started a thread a few wks ago on it.
allina Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 all you could have said instead of pointing her out was "Does Stress alone make you overwieght?" This is sort of what i was trying to say. I felt like much the information about this woman was no necessary. The OP also pointed out that she would not eat these things if she was that size. I felt like part of this thread was to make the OP feel better and superior for those reasons. Had the true interest been purely the correlation between weight and stress the post would be different.

Do you really think this girl wakes up in the morning and thinks she is 125... um no... She wishes she could lose wieght. Maybe she has tried before and she is not doing soo well with it.
Author Mary3 Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 So the bigger issue here is how I worded the original thread.. If I saw an extremely jittery person with white powder on his nose who weighed 98 lbs should I have entitled it :" Why is my friend so thin ?" Or should I have said " My friend is thin and I think he might be using drugs " The comment about not eating what she ate : I made sensible eating choices in the early 90's , less butter , less soda , more water . So my comment was whether you are heavy or average ~life time choices of food ( not a diet which is a prescription for failure ) is the way to eat . A few think I have attacked her so I will end this thread . I am a realist. If someone is 300 lbs and sitting eating a box of 12 donuts , has a sedentary life style , consumes vast amounts of soda pop and visits fast food places daily and then asks me how can they change living eating style and lifestyle , then I will offer my best advice about fat intake , sugar intake , ect. Thats mostly what I did here was to present her condition , her eating style and if it were because she had stress.
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 And the true uguly nature of how we see obese people comes out!! More times then not alot of other wise "nice" people will bash on obese people and then hide it behind health issues. What gets me is yes I agree its unhealthey to be large no dout but realy whats it to other people past maybe a friendly warning or honest expressed consern?? How many people will refuse to talk to a smoker just because they smoke prob not maney?? Yet its a major health prob for them and even more so those around them! But people will ingore or talk behind obese peoples backs or even worse openly abuse them. And when asked why they do this they blurt out well its because there unhealthey B*ll Sh*T its because you personaly find them unpleaseing to the eye. Call a spade a spade people and except when you are judgeing others more based on there looks then there health!! I wonder how many therads are titled I have a smoker friend at work and he says he smokes because of stress what do you think?. Prob not alot just something to think about people be nice to others and live and let live lifes to short really...
