This guy called me earlier to see if I was doing anything tonight, which we had planned to do something this weekend anyway. So I thought tonight was the night, and he said he'd call me later. Well 9 pm rolled around and hadn't heard from him, so I called him. He told me he was waiting for his friend to come over, which I would've rather have spent time with just him but that's out of my control, anyway, he said he'd call me back a half hour later. He still hasn't, so I'm kinda pissed off and if he does call I don't want to answer the phone. Is that being selfish or me acting as a b*tch if I don't answer? It is the BIGGEST pet peeve of mine when people don't call back when they say they will, that even goes for girl friends of mine, not just guys. I did tell him that none of my girl friends would be with me, so would he think I'd be the 3rd wheel or something? I've done that before with him so I don't know what the big deal is..I guess he'd rather hang out with an immature boy than me :(

hmm..i dont know what he's thinking. But maybe he's not as into you as you thought? or perhaps games?

or then again sh#t happens, maybe a day or 2 later he'll call and apologize for not calling.

I'd be pissed, too. It doesn't make you like him any less, though. If he's cool about it, when he calls later or tomorrow, you'll be willing to forget it.

It's just odd because he's been wanting to do something with me for awhile, and he ALWAYS calls me back so I dunno what his deal is, but last time when I hung out with him and his friend, his friend was hitting on me. I'm not sure if it's the same friend he's hanging out with tonight, but geez that's not my problem, why take it out on me?!

I really have to comment on this statement here.....

Women, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop reading that book! ("He's Just Not Into You")

If a guy says he'll call and doesn't call, it doesn't mean he's not into you. It means he's a jerk. Decent guys do not do that whether they're into a girl or not.

Women should not consider that behavior acceptable. And don't pin it on yourselves as if you're not good enough for him to call you like he said he would. It's NOT you! We need a book titled "It's not you, it's HIM" instead. Women are taking all the blame for how these particular men act and excusing it. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.

Really you should want nothing more to do with people like that. Trust me, they will NOT improve as time goes on.

Now, I know that's easier said than done and I've not listened to my own advice many a times but the older I get, the more I'm listening to it and I wished I would have listened to it sooner.

I appreciate your post because it's so very true... boys will be boys and we shouldn't take all the blame in certain situations ;)

I say that because he's been away for baseball, we've been talking every week and now that he's in back (here at home) he wanted to see me. That's exactly what he said on the phone yesterday, so we've been planning to hang out for awhile since he's been gone.

so this guy I was posting about, called me lastnight while I was out with my friends. I asked him what happened to him lastnight and that he was supposed to call me and he said he forgot? but he had the b*lls to tell me he forgot so it doesn't make sense, I dunno, but was he trying to make it up by calling me lastnight? BUT then I told him if he could to meet me and a bunch of my friends at this restaurant, and he said that if I was going to be there for awhile that he'd try & meet up since he was across town. So..didn't hear from him after awhile, so I called him back, no answer. Then later I called him again to get directions to this other place since he was there lastnight and he didn't answer again. what the f is the deal? I'm pissed off now.

Next time, let him do all the talking. And make all the suggestions.

He's being evasive, so it's time to let him do the work of pursuing you.

I'm pissed off now.

I don't think he's worth getting pissed off about. I think he gets the idea that you are interested in him, though.

yah I can tell he's being evasive now, but he was NEVER like that before, he'd be the one calling, and if I called him, he'd always call back. So it's strange now. I know he knows that I talk to alot of other guys, so I don't know if he's trying to play games to make himself look better or what? But it does seem as though he just started doing this after he knew the competition he's up against, but it's still odd to me!

He sounds like a flake and not worth your time.

I have found that the type of guys who don't call when they say they will are most often the self absorbed, or mentally lacking type (he "forgot" within 30 minutes to call you back).

I haven’t read every one of your posts here in detail but dose the poor guy even know that you like him in a more then friends way? Cause from what your saying it kinda sounds to me like he thinks you guys are just good buddies who hang out when you get the chance. And maybe if that’s what he honestly thought then now you starting to act more like a gf and kinda wanting to be in control more is sort of throwing him for a loop. And who knows if he doesn’t exactly share the same feelings may even be a bit of a put off but he just doesn’t know how to tell you with out hurting you. So hence him seaming like he’s trying to avoid you by not always calling back if I was you I would sit him down and have a talk about EXACTLY were you too stand as friends or more? And find out how he’s feeling about it as well but don’t be to pushy about it better to end up just being good friends then nothing at all no? You cant assume with men that they always get the hint and are fully with the program when it comes to romantic advances. Some are however many times others almost need to have a bus land on them to make it crystal clear your true intentions lol.
