tanbark813 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I have a first date with a chick tonight and she called beforehand to ask what to wear. Obviously it's done mainly so she won't be too dressed up or too dressed down for the evening but I also realized that I love it when girls ask that. I'm not sure what it is but it's kind of a turn on to give input into what she should wear. I don't know why. It's probably some lame ego/power thing but I like it nevertheless.

Its also a good way for her to gauge how much ca$h you'll be spending on her.

It is not. It is her attempt to (1) make sure she feels comfortable, (2) please him. It's a win-win. I rarely find myself asking this question though, as I usually know where we're going/what we're doing. Are you planning a surprise, Tanny???
alphamale Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 It is not. It is her attempt to (1) make sure she feels comfortable, (2) please him. most of the studies I've seen show that women generally dress for themselves and for other women. Impressing men with their clothes and pretty shoes is not high on their agenda.
Trialbyfire Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I tend to ask but a little less definitively. "Should I dress up or be casual?" or "Are jeans okay?". Then, depending on which one he specifies, I'll do the tasteful thing so that it's not too extreme but still looks good.
nicki Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah, asking is to find out if it's jeans or something dressier. And jeans still means high heels and a sexy top.

She used to work in the same building as me (different company though) but she's not there anymore. I've known her for about 2 years now and she already knows what I do for a living. It is not. It is her attempt to (1) make sure she feels comfortable, (2) please him. It's a win-win. I rarely find myself asking this question though, as I usually know where we're going/what we're doing. Are you planning a surprise, Tanny??? She knows roughly what we'll be doing but the restaurant wasn't specified. I'm going to take her to nice Italian place nearby. It's not fancy but nice and very reasonably priced.
Adick Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 So---what did you tell her? Push up bra, low cut blouse, no underwear, short skirt?
Author tanbark813 Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah, asking is to find out if it's jeans or something dressier. And jeans still means high heels and a sexy top. I told her not fancy but not jeans. Somewhere in between.
Trialbyfire Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah, asking is to find out if it's jeans or something dressier. And jeans still means high heels and a sexy top. Always...

nicki Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Aw, Tanbark, "in between" is the hardest to dress for. That's when I usually pull out the black pants and same sexy top I was going to wear with jeans. Adick, who wears underwear on dates anyway? Sheesh. I hate panty lines, therefore, I hate underwear, therefore, no underwear...ever. Have fun, Tanbark. And report back to us on how it all goes! Hey, what are you wearing?
