My friend Jack moved out of state to Nashville for a while; but a few months ago, he moved back home for whatever reason. Upon doing that, I guess he started to miss his GF in Nashville, so a couple months ago he decided to move back there to live with her/ be with her.

At 1st, he planned to propose to her after he moved and got settled. But a few days ago, he got anxious and wanted to propose right away. So 3 days ago he proposed over the phone and she said yes. He was all packed and ready to go. The very next day, she died in a car accident!

Can you imagine?

Oh my! That is horrible! I hope your friend Jack is doing ok. I am so sorry that happened. That is just wrong. :(

Since the question was "what would I do?" my answer is cry. A lot. For a long time. I can't begin to imagine the pain.

That's tragic. I hope Jack is surrounded by the support of those who love him.

I'm so sorry to hear about this.

Totally. I feel so bad for him. It will probably be a long time before he can bring himself to get close to anyone again. But it's almost as though something told him to propose to her now instead of later. Otherwise, he might of felt that she died without knowing how much he loved her. Geez, it's like something out of a movie.

i recently attended a funeral for a friend who had passed in a car accident. the whole time i was there i was thinking about how short life is and how for many of us are dealing with situations were a simple solution could bring us back together with our love. you never know unless you try and life is to short if one waits to long to give a second chance the may never get to at all. just my thoughts. my prayers to jack and his girl.

That is so sad....

It is just one those strange things in life, but at least he knew that she said yes, that must be really valuable to him.

I heard a story like this recently... I had known that a girl who was good friends with many of my friends was killed by a drunk driver last summer but I only just heard the story about how she had been planning to go into Peace Corps her whole life and it was really important to her but she broke up with her boyfriend because she didn't think it was fair to him to be gone for 2 years and try to stay together but he knew he wanted to and wanted to be together when she got back... so they were separated but still totally in love when she died, it is pretty heartbreaking... It makes me wonder what I'll do if my boyfriend decided to go to Peace Corps, we both agree that we wouldn't be able to stay together but this really makes you think about how the people in your life are too important to let other crap get in the way.
