That's hilarious!

I don't usually post in OM/OW threads, but I would have to say that if you are married and seeing someone else, then it seems obvious to me that you think the other person (the one who is not your spouse) is definitely the greener grass, as the saying goes. What's your point, Andy L?

I'm not married.

I don't believe in that "greener grass" story.

But I wanna know what other people think about...

I guess I should clarify. I'm not saying that the other person actually IS better than your spouse, but people who have affairs, I would believe, are generally in that state of mind that the A partner is providing them something else they are not getting at home. Why else would a person have an A???

Just out of curiosity if you aren't married why is there a picture of a married couples hands under your name??

Of course the grass is greener....but then you realize its crab grass, accompanied by weeds, spreads everywhere, makes your yard look horrible and can cost a lot of time and money to make it pretty again!

Don't you believe in me or I can't like a picture like that?

I think at the time of the A the grass is definitely greener which is why you are out sunbathing on it! Once an A becomes reality and you are together as a 'normal couple' (if it ever gets this far) I guess many people realise it isn't that green after all! I suppose that's why so many end up going back to their H/W. Like they say, you don't know what you've got till you've lost it I suppose.

Unfortunately, the reality of new and different grass is...that in time, it

too becomes the same old grass...old, brown and filled with weeds or piss

and crap spots. new grASS doesn't last forever.;)

yeah sure but you still have to end up mowing the crap too.

Oh...look at that guys lawn.....dam that is a nice lawn...look at all the green grass.....makes my lawn look like a hay field. Hmmm...wonder what its like over there?

She hopes the fence. Wow....this is unlike any grass I have ever seen before. This is SO much better than my grass. Think I will stay for a while.

Few months go by....grass is still green......hey whats that pile of poop doing here? Looks over to her hay field....sigh....I guess that pile of poop is ok.

Few more months go by. You mean I have to start mowing the new grass? But i already have a hayfield to tend too....I just came here because it looked so nice and I didnt have to take care of it....ahh dam another pile of poop...and now its on my shoe.

So...she starts mowing the new grass....and runs over some of the poop piles....fresh ones too....dam, look at thing thing fly...what a mess.

Months go buy....there is poop everywhere in the new lawn....on her shoes, her clothes, the fence....

She looks over to her hayfield....the one that make not look the best, but hey its hers. She owns it...as bad as it may look....the old lawn takes a new light to it....it looks homey and lived in....she misses it.

As she stands in the new grass with poop all over...she cant help but wonder WHY is she taking care of both lawns....why am I doing this....As green as the new lawn is....it seems as though after all tis time....its just the same as I had before....not a hay field....but a poop field.

Is this what I wanted? Nice green grass with poop on my new sandels....

yeah, i think maybe my little hayfield aint so bad...

but by that time...its too late. The co owner of the hayfield decides he need s a new grounds keeper.....so he gets one.....over time...the hay turns to grass....and dam...it dont look too bad.

Now, the owner of the poop grass seems to think theres too much crap to deal with....so he tells her its over, she must return to her hayfield...

But its too late....here she stands in a pile of poop...looking over to what she used to have....and it dont look bad at all....buts its gone now....she cant have it anymore....she cant have her hayfield either....

so she is left to walk the streets with her poop cover shoes and no grass to clean them on....

OH...but its sooooo greener over there......

If you don't take care of your garden, the grass will always look better elsewhere. Some gardens are yellow from the get-go.

I think everybody at one time or another checks out the grass way over yonder, but most don't wanna go roll in it. They just enjoy the view from afar.

((Thumbs)) Cuz you sound like you need a hug!

My grass is green enough. Truthfully my grass has made me realize just how much poop and weeds all the other yards have.

where it is watered, nourished and cared for. It's really that simple. Take care of your grass, it will bring you years of joy.

Agree: as in, perhaps temporary "state of mind" or the state of mind which one may convince oneself that one is not getting what they need and rationalize this in order to scratch what ever itches at the time.

However, when one is not getting what one needs than isn't one responsible for that?

Or does one simply go find a replacement?

Nay, brother--that's ineffectual and an immature excuse. Any body can scratch an itch where no one can kill an ill other than ones' self.

It's unfair to claim that affairs happen because one isn't getting what they need: it is unfairly placing responsibility for one's needs on other persons namely the spouse and the OP.
