Mrs. Emo Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 To you married guys out there....since the day your lovely bride placed your wedding band on your finger, how often have you taken it off and for what reason? Do you need to remove it to take a shower, put gel in your hair, wash your hands or because it feels uncomfertable when you are working? Other than it actually being dangerous to wear in your line of work, I really don't see the need to have to take it off, but when I find my guy's ring hanging around somewhere, he always has a reason... hmmm
Trimmer Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 When I was married, I only took it off to clean it, for work safety (sometimes around potential electrical shock situations but usually around moving/spinning machine tools, in my case) or if there was a chance of damaging it (i.e. picking up or gripping heavy or rough pieces of metal, although in that case I would usually wear gloves anyway.) Kept it on for showers, washing hands, hair gel, suntan lotion, swimming, etc. I might have taken it off for scuba diving, because my hands would shrink in the cold and under pressure, but again, I always wore gloves, so I don't quite remember - scuba was a while back. Took it off for the divorce...
Curmudgeon Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 In a word, "Never!" Didn't even take off the former one until the divorce was final.
Art_Critic Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 When I was married.. which was for 5 years I never ONCE removed it. I made a pact with myself to never remove it.. I did remove it when we separated to divorce, but that was to drive home the point that the divorce was going thru
