Guest Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 hi i have a situation here. first off i've been with my boyfriend for 8 months now. he is a lawyer and i am still in college. i am broke and he lives on his own. well lately its been kind of bad. he says we should pay for everything evenly, and i tried to explain to him that i am broke. he has a massive amount of student loan debt and his bills are through the roof, so i dont mind paying for some stuff in the relationship. but he is sooooooo crazy about it. everything has to be even all the time. expenses have to always be split, we have to always take turns paying for everything. well the situation is bad now. we got in huge fight because he doesnt understand that i am broke and cant afford to split expenses with him constantly. we are planning a trip to ohio soon to visit his cousin and he wants me to split the costs of gas, tolls, ect. i need other money for the trip and also have to drive home to where he lives to even go on the trip. are other guys this crazy about payng? i know some guys think it should be even, and i dont mind paying for some stuff cause he does have a ton of bills. he says he wants an equal partnership, and so do i. but i think he means he wants an equal partnership and we arent equal. i dont want to lose him because i love him more than anything in this world, but i'm scared our relationship is going to fall apart if this continues. what should i do????
