--- Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 In a world where there are thousands trying to lose weight, you wouldn't really hear about someone who wants to gain weight... (unless they were anorexic) Well I'm pretty thin, and I want to find ways to gain weight but still remain healthy at the same time. Does anyone have any tips/ideas on how to gain weight? i.e. what foods to eat, what exercises to do? etc...
taiko Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 There is a member who always points to bodybuilder.com. I don't visit that site myself but I do know the basic body building principles and after looking at pictures of my POW camp survivor body at the beach I took action and added 20lbs. Basic eat right, with lots of protein and eat more little meals. Do heavy lifting exercises. Squats, deadlifts, beanch presses. After building that core you can move to emphasise any particular body parts
princessa Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Well since the key to losing weight is lowering one's calorie intake, raising yours would make you gain weight. I always point to Sparkpeople.com. It's an excellent site. You can track your calories there, so that you're aware of what you eat and whether you consume enough calories for weight gain. It will also create a full meal plan for you, along with a weekly grocery list, if you want to follow it. If you are thin you should also do weight lifting to give some shape to your body.
