Guest Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I was wondering if anyone is in the same situation as I am. For the past 3-4 years I've noticed hair growing on my chin at first it was only a few, but this past year I noticed a lot more, to where I need to pluck them every day in order for me to get on with my day. I've become very self conscience about the hair on my chin. I hate speaking to people in close proximity, because I'm afraid they will notice the hair. Is this a hormone thing I should look into? Or is this just all part of the aging process? I excersise by running 4-5 miles four times a week. I try to eat healthy. I don't know what else I can do to stop the growth. I can't afford any costly laser work, and the hair is a bit coarse, so hair removal creams, waxing, and gels will not do the trick. Any advice out there? Thanks.
Starry-eyed Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Guest, are you a woman? I'm going to assume so, otherwise chin hair isn't usually a prob. It probably IS hormonal. There are several hormonal/physical issues that can cause excess facial or body hair in women. Aging is definitely one thing (but you didn't say how old you are), so is the amount (too much or too little) of certain hormones your body produces. Do you notice any other symptoms or physical changes? Bottom line is you should go see a doctor. There could be seveal reasons for this.

As far as physical changes are concerned, I would have to say yes, there has been a lot more PMS symptoms than previous years. I guess I should make an appointment with my OBGYN. Thank you for your reply. Anymore advice would be appreciated.
whichwayisup Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I'm a redhead, and for some reason redheads seem to have chin hairs. I pluck and I love it! My H laughs at me cuz I lay down to watch tv, grab the tweezers and pull 'em out one by one. I do this about once a week or so. No big deal. It's light since I'm a redhead...now, if I had black hair I would get my chin waxed.
Ssheena Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I recommend getting electrologist (electorlogy?) (whatever.. zapped). It worked for me and I only had to get it zapped once and it has never grown back. It was like a frigging whisker and drove me crazy. I think it's just part of the wonder aging process - yuck
Quinch Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 If I don't shave for about a week I get a small patch of white stubble on my chin while the rest of it is red. That's just weird

If all else fails, you could get some work in nursery rhymes. -tp not by the hair of my..... you know the rest.
