outofdarkness Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Hey ya'll... I have a question for MM or MW in A's now or the past, and anyone else who wants to respond on the subject..I am SURE it's been brought up before, but I can't remember it specifically... Here goes: What are some of the excuses you all used to get away to see your OW or OM? I REALLY am curious about what specifically was said...In looking back, some of the things my H used were so stupid and so trivial that I think that's why I never guessed what was really going on...He used excuses for long absences and for really short ones too, I guess to make a phone call? Keep in mind too, that all of this started back in 1994...NO cell phones, computers, not the general rule...So anyone who can and wants to go back that far, I'd love to hear from you... I could really use some laughter right now...Even though some may bring up some pain, that's ok too...
LakesideDream Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Not a MM or OW, but an "experiancer" (never a victim) of a Cheating Wife. I remember her excuses clearly. This was in the year 2000 so cell phones were in play, although they were just telephones. No memories, pictures etc. Most effective: Spouse claimed to be driving 600 miles each way, every six weeks to meet up with our adult children and friends in her hometown. In fact she got as far as the local airport where she took a plane to meetings with her lover. Twice: Went on weekend long short trips with "the gals from work". Once: Traveled to a funeral expecting to stay overnight, stayed a week. Once: 3 days at a Business Software training program 400 miles away (spent non classroom hours with BF). There were others, these just happened in the last 24 months of the marriage. Yup, I was a sap. After 23 years of marriage, I felt I had no options other than to trust her. How did I find this stuff out? After she moved out she left two boxes behind accidentially. In the boxes were her financial records and a "journal", plus a box full of photo's and letters. No... I never mentioned that I found it.

My H travels alot and not so much now, but used to attend many of these training programs. How many non classroom hours are there in these things? Do you know? I'm so sorry for you pain...I know how it feels!
Guest Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Just wondering, has your husband admitted cheating or are you just trying to figure out if he did? What difference does it make what excuses he used? If you want to know the excuses he used, ask him. If you are still together and the affair has been confessed, he should be open enough to tell you what excuses he used, if it is that important to you. I don't know why that is so important to you, but I guess we all work through it our own way. By the way if he has confessed but won't tell you what you desire to know, show him the door.
silktricks Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 How many non classroom hours are there in these things? Do you know? I'm so sorry for you pain...I know how it feels! Most classes are all day. 8am to 5pm and are grueling. Many have tests at the end which must be passed before your company will pay for the class. (If you don't pass, you've got to foot the bill yourself, and as they are many thousands of dollars each, there is pretty strong incentive to pass.)
