lynnmccutcheon Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 What I want to know is how to lose weight the easy way and not worry about eating too much if anyone knows reply. thanks, lynn
MWC_LifeBeginsAt40 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 The easiest way is to burn off more calories than you consume. How? Make smart choices when selecting foods to eat and plan meals ahead. Go for daily walks. Track track track everything that goes in and all the exercise you do to try and take it off.
IfWishesWereHorses Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 South Beach works great but you have to do it! Then there is always gastic bypass but then you can't eat much anyway, so what's the point.
Art_Critic Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Try portion control.. cut the amount you eat. ie:.. if you eat 2 burgers when you sit down to eat dinner , then only eat one. If you get hungry between meals drink water instead.. Make sure that you don't cut your calories to the point that your body goes into starvation mode..I think you need to consume like 1000 or 1100 calories per day and no less..
Motor35 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 There is no easy way to lose weight. It is a lifestyle change. I lost 80 pounds about 10 years ago. I went on a low-fat, low-calorie diet. 20 grams of fat per day and 1100 calories. And I walked about three miles a day. To this day, I still count calories, watch my total fat intake and still walk everyday.
norajane Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 The Heartbreak Diet has worked wonders for me without even trying. 1- Get your heart broken by your lover 2- Lose all appetite 3- Pace around crying, and go for a lot of walks
My Fair Katie Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Get to know your grocery store. The best foods are on the ends and in the back. Produce (lots of it, fresh fruits and veggies), meat and dairy. Plan out dinner ahead of time so you don't fall into the trap of picking bad for you quick dinners. Cut out sodas and drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day. If you can try to cut out juice, it's like sugar in a glass. Instead eat the fruit. In other words toss the OJ and buy some oranges. Eat SLOWLY, put your fork down between bites if you have to, it takes 20 minutes for the brain to get the signal that you are full. Everyone should get about 30 minutes of cardio a day, a walk, a jog, run up and down your stairs. Any other crash diet (even southbeach and the like) runs a higher risk of you going back to your old weight and gaining more once you no longer have to deprive yourself of the carbs. So, I say, don't deprive yourself. You should still have treats. Just in moderation. Believe it or not, that is the easiest way. Lots of water, eat slowly, you'll find you're more full. Choose fresh ingredients and go ahead and indulge once in awhile, just make up for it with a little more walking or a healthier dinner.

Know the feeling.
RecordProducer Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 What I want to know is how to lose weight the easy way and not worry about eating too much if anyone knows reply. thanks, lynn Don't eat anything except veggies and juices for a few days. Buy Zantrax or some weight-lose pills. Walk a lot.

I went on a low-fat, low-calorie diet. 20 grams of fat per day and 1100 calories. And I walked about three miles a day. princessa Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Count your calories. Go to SparkPeople.com, create an account, and log what you eat every day. That way you know how much you ate, you learn which stuff fills you up the most but contains the least calories.. AND you can still eat chocolate and donuts (in moderation, of course) and not worry about them being bad for you! Make sure you don't go over 1500 cal every day, or if you do, you make up for it another day of the week. That's all there is to it.
knaveman Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 There is no easy way, if you want results it takes work and sometimes hard work. It all depends on how bad you want it. You don't get anything without sacrifice and work. Nothing is free.
taiko Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 The Heartbreak Diet has worked wonders for me without even trying. 1- Get your heart broken by your lover 2- Lose all appetite 3- Pace around crying, and go for a lot of walks You call that easy:eek: . The easy way, find something you are willing to give up, like TV or visiting websites. Use that time to workout, something which feels fun to you. It can be swiming, basketball, martial arts whatever just do something. Next in difficulty do exercises designed to reach your goal whether you like it or not Next in difficulty change your diet. Some just try to eat less, others like the shock of a massive change in foods consumed. whichever is easier for you.
Sweetie2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I find that I eat less when I chew gum...for example: Orbit peppermint. I chew the whitning gum too, I just make sure its sugar free. Of course then it has fake sweetner in it, which some people can't handle in their systems, and other people fake sweetner makes them GAIN weight, not loose it...watch out of diet soda! One other thing i've done, to try and loose a little weight, is cut back on soda. I drink sprite, or Club Soda, which is basically carbinated water, or Ginger ale...that way I get the bubbles, but not the bad stuff all soda's have in them...i walk daily, and eat LOTS of fresh stuff...it really helps! In my 3 months in Germany i ate almost no processed food...I don't know if i lost weight, but i definetly lost inches! hope this helps S2007
princessa Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I drink sprite, or Club Soda, which is basically carbinated water, or Ginger ale...that way I get the bubbles, but not the bad stuff all soda's have in them... Uh... Club Soda is fine... But if you think that Sprite and Ginger ale don't have the "bad stuff" that regular soda has, you're in for a surprise. It's not because it doesn't have the dark cola color that it's less toxic. Also, unless you're drinking DIET Sprite, and DIET Ginger ale, you'd be intaking about 100 calories per drink, just as for regular soda.
princessa Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 By the way, here's an article on why the only thing that matters when trying to lose weight is the calorie intake! http://sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=387
justpassingthrough Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 If there was an easy way to lose weight everyone would be skinny. Have you spoken to your doctor about a weight-loss plan?
ratzskinakie Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 If you want to see result, there is no easy way. Unless your rich, then you could have some sort of surgery, but thats still not fun to go through and people who have surgery don't have the satisfied "marred dust, sweat, and blood sense of accomplishment" when they lose the weight they want. which is normaly the best part. You heard it, and you will hear it again (BECAUSE IT WORKS), Reduce calorie intake. also, cut down on sugars (ex. instead of soda, if you need your caffine, drink diet) avoid pasteries, fried food, mayo, butter (if you need butter, use light butter). No cookies, and anything that is obviously fat. and the other and/or option is to increase excersize. millions of ways to do this. The idea is to reduce calorie intake
BentSpine Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I have just lost 14 pounds in 6 weeks. This is my thought on weightloss: You must find out what works for you! You must find where your trade-off point is with regards to: More exercise; Pro: Faster weightloss. Con: If intensive risk of anatomical problems from overuse. Low intensive exercise might get boring because you have spend a lot of time doing it. Restricting more dangerous, but tasty food: Pro: Faster weightloss. Con: Feeling deprived which can break your resolve. Being more aware of calories; Pro: Faster weightloss through better choices. Con: Possible risk of obsession with food. Slower weightloss; Pro: Good habits better imprinted in subconscious. Less deprivation. Con: Slow weightloss might not feel worth your mental effort. My #1 reason why I think people fail their weightloss is...overrating the benefits of exercise. Walk one mile and you have used up 100 kilocalories. Now look the energy content of food and you'll realise that 100 kilocalories is nothing. Exercise is crucial but for other reasons than most people think: 1) Exercise counteracts the otherwise inevitable lowering of your basic metabolic rate that follows if reduce your energy intake. This is a gradual and proportional lowering of the metabolic rate therefore the "starvation mode" is new age and bollocks. 2) The small gain from exercise can and should be used for tiny rewards in order not feel deprived. 3) You'll likely not eat while exercising. If you can't stand to eat reduced calorie diet in the long run, you will gain it all back. One must strive for becoming a great cook in order to make tasty and varying food. This will prevent one from feeling deprived.
