even with great efforts of adjustment? Comparatively as in to other people's? Now there are a lot more to good looks in a mate and I value that very highly, but this discussion is about physical beauty only.

To answer the topic, I do- compared to the vast majority of other people when it comes to guys' physical attractiveness. Don't take this the wrong way; I don't think I'm the hottest in the world or am cocky at all. I also understand that some other girls may not find some of the guys that I find attractive as attractive as well.

I really do try to see what others (girls and guys) see when we talk about dating/sex/romance potentials in terms of initial attraction (physical attractiveness) and nothing works. Why do so many people (nearly everyone) say there are a lot of good-looking people out there or imply that or say someone looks like an angel as well as the next and the next when I nearly entirely see 6's and a few 7's in the good looks department? Such exaggeration to me. I am lucky if I see one guy who's decent-looking in one week after much effort, real-life and media-wise. As a matter of fact, when I do see one, it's like a huge draft of fresh air (even when he's in a serious relationship already or I am too damn hectic or overwhelmed by my life to invite him) and am entirely distraught when it's inconvienent for me b/c I wonder when the hell will the next good-looking guy come along. Anyone else feel this way, girls or guys? Please be honest. I needed to get that off my chest.

I don't think it's shallow to want to be with a good looking person. If they don't turn you on physically then what's the point?

It happens to everyone all the time.

Yeah, I added that last part about "more than just good looks" in the last minute b/c believe or not, I see people get frequently slammed or don't answer for "being so shallow not looking at the heart of the person" just for presenting one topic on looks.

On a case-by-case basis, I see that, but I mentioned disagreement on who's hot or not. I pretty much never see it on a general basis.

After that upcoming dermatologist visit is in effect.

A 6 or a 7 is above average on the looks scale, therefore they are good-looking. If you want drop-dead gorgeous, that's a whole 'nother ballgame.

goldpenny, why do you value physical beauty so much? I'm not sure I understand this.

You're missing the point. I hardly even see a 6 or a 7 is the point. I don't want a drop-dead gorgeous (well, I do but who doesn't if they can afford to?) but I don't look for that.

Can you really use two adverbs in a row like that?!

Now you've got me curious. Of male celebrities, who falls within the 6 category and the 7 category?

You're missing the point. I mean, it's only one point. Is a cute arse worth one point??

A cute arse has no points. As far as I'm concerned, they're well rounded.

No, at least as far as I know. I should've used a hyphen or something.

6- Brandon Boyd, some model named Jason Fedele, Ashton Kutcher

7-Simon Rex, some model in a Calvin Klein Ad, Tyson Beckford

-to name some.

Where would you rate the following?

Jude Law

David Beckham

Orlando Bloom

David Beckham

10. There is no point reserving the top score. This is as good as it gets.

I don't want to get too astray but okay.

Jude Law is a 5 but if I were 12 I would think he's cute according to my taste back then.

David Beckham is a 3.5 or 4

Orlando Bloom is 5.5 (but is a 6 in some shots)

That's just an extra pair of socks.

Holy moly, I meant to put someone else who looked similar to Tyson Beckford except much better-looking in the 7 category but he's not even a celeb. Jenry Bajarano (sp?) is his name, a contestant of American Idol, the lateset season.

goldpenny, I think I begin to understand your taste a little better. I'm guessing you're in your early to mid-twenties.

Yes, borderline.

I need a dermatologist to get rid of the itty bitty scars under my ass and decrease the chances of "boiliing". Too embarrassing. I'm not obsessed, it only sounds like it b/c the answers and questions are concentrated. Freddie Prince Jr. is not my thing; however, of course I know girls who prefer him over Ryan Phillippe (and I prefer Ryan).

What made me think of your age is the type of men you find more attractive. They tend to be on the edge or have barely hit manhood, still with an edge of boyhood. Ashton Kutcher for example looks younger than he is, which is kind of ironic considering Demi Moore.
