Ok, so I've seen limerance mentioned on this board, here and there, most recently in a thread in Business and Prof Relationships about intense feelings for a co-worker.

I find the theory quite interesting (see Wikipedia, for one). And it doesn't seem to be as harmless or innocent, say, as an occasional attraction/crush on another person.

But here's what I don't get: in the case of a married person becoming limerant over a person who is not their spouse, is the limerance an indication of a deficiency (or tendency), if you will, in the person who feels that way, or (just) a symptom of a deeper problem in the limerant person's life/relationships?

Or put another way, are some people just limerant-types? Or can anyone be susceptible to this if put in the right situation?

Any thoughts?

Thanks for posting the link, TBF

Uplooker, looks like I'm not going to get any bites. But I've been keeping up with your thread, maybe we'll get some thoughts over there.
