oppath Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Taylor, I empathize. I had my first kiss at 20. Lost my virginity at 22.5. And my first official girlfriend at 25. I'm told I am incredibly handsome -- not the player looking type who can get any girl -- but have striking angular features and am lithe. I'm told by female friends this deters women from flirting with me, and many girls I've dated have told me they thought I was out of their league. I personally don't know what my league is because, as a late bloomer, I still have some confidence battles, but they are being overcome in time. First, remind yourself that many women would have kept dating these guys just to be dating someone. 8 months isn't a long time to be without a good bf. It's ok to be single. You've stood your ground and not pursued people who weren't good for you when other people would say "what the heck" and date someone for a month just to date someone. Second, you spent some time recovering from a traumatic breakup. That is ok. Taking some time to grieve is a good thing. From a guy's perspective...I have to approach women, engage them in conversation, ask for their number, ask them out, arrange the date...there are several steps in there for rejection. Some of those guys never called you back? Most guys have to call lots of girls to get a date; getting a number does not guarantee a date (though many guys should wise up and not force the number). Girls often won't call back. It happens to both genders and is part of the game. I'd say you have to expect at least 1 in 3 dates or potential dates to act that way, entirely flaking. People are cowards. Keep your head up and keep putting yourself out there. You are a fantastic woman -- that shows in your posts! I would ask you out from what I know about you.
Mary3 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I think cats hang around with people because they are hoping we'll die so they can get a big meal. If they were big enough they'd just make it happen. Instead they have to just wait and wait. My kitty likes Purina Cat Chow not Human Chow , lol
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Keep your head up and keep putting yourself out there. You are a fantastic woman -- that shows in your posts! I would ask you out from what I know about you. Why dont you then?
DanielMadr Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 hee hee- i know girls that won't go anywhere where there isn't a plug to plug in their hairdryer.. HIGH maintenance. I am an above average looking girl who loves to rough it. I think my BF prefers me when we go camping to when we go clubbing! Go figure. DanielMadr- every time I see your (stubbly) avatar, I think of the "love" scene in team america, and laugh to myself. Who thought puppets could get so down and dirty? Do you need a montage? Its not that hard get down and dirty....just cut the strings for a while (2hours at least). I just cant get myself to say 'I promise. I will never die.' The word 'montage' is great mystery to me concerning the movie. Dictionary doesnt help. Can you enlighten me?
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montage here you go. Then watch the movie again, as now you know what a montage is, that part of team america will now make sense, and be funnier for you.

Why should I need montage then? (Im not that dumb 24/7...just need a hint)
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Cos its in the film when daniel gets fit to save the world! You know! "You need a montage... you gotta have a montage" youknow, the part when its taking the p*ss out of film montages.. sigh. jokes aren't as funny when you have to explain them, but you know for next time.
DanielMadr Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 OK, here's the lowdown................ Extraordinary peole get extraordinary reactions. Maybe they are afraid of you. Maybe you give no hints of interest (e.g. no calling back). Who knows. Just dont start to analyze yourself too much and dont make drastic measures. Its a good start to know yourself....but dont view yourself through eyes of other people. Dont think about your looks as being a problem....you will get obssesed by your looks, questioning your appearance every minute. You descibed yourself pretty clearly....thyts your core, who you are....sticks with it and dont question it. I can tell, I already like you and would be delighted to have a dinner with you. However. Searching for 'Where am I in the pyramid of social interactions?' or 'Am I really that great catch?' is road to hell.
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Searching for 'Where am I in the pyramid of social interactions?' or 'Am I really that great catch?' is road to hell. i second that. When i stopped wondering all those things, it was as if a section of my brain had disappeared and taken all my stress with it. It was a gradual thing, but it feels great to not worry about that stuff anymore.

Thanks again. Sure a bit of montage would certainly help. Im down to save the world. Only thing that holds me back is....you have to suck a ***** first. I think I get a world saving job with female boss.
PinkShorts Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Actually it is much harder to find a meaningful relationship. That is because the only men who have the guts and courage to come up and want to get to know you are mostly conceited arrogant pricks. The shy nice guys don't have the same type of balls to approach an extremely attractive female. SO yeah, it's nice getting attention- lots of it- but it's mostly from the wrong type of men. Carmen Electra can sympathize... at one time she said she was thinking of turning lesbian.

It was a gradual thing, but it feels great to not worry about that stuff anymore. Usually happens to people who went through some serious shyt (or not so serious when one is sensitive).

PinkShorts Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I'm guessing the best chance for a decent man to approach you is to be innocent-looking or really cute-looking. Sure anyone will get their share of jerks, but at least you also get some nice guys coming around too. When you are completely gorgeous or look high-maintanence or whatever like a 9 or 10, it's going to be MOSTLY the jerks approaching you who think they are good enough for you or even better than you are. Best thing would be to test them out and wait to let them have sex, but a lot of women get sexually charged from these "jerks" and don't.
Salicious Crumb Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Do hot girls have a harder time finding men interested in having a real relationship? Guys, if you meet a girl who is say, an 8, 9 or 10, do you consider her relationship material or casual sex only material? Do you automatically think they are shallow, high maintenance, b*tchy, easy? Really "hot" women tend to know they are hot and are alway on the lookout for the bigger, better deal. So when I was younger and not married...I typically didn't pay them much mind. I much rather preferred a cute girl that wasn't a perfect 10 with a great personality. Not saying someone real good looking can't have a great personality and is trustworthy, but in my experience, that hasn't been the case all too often. Although in the end it didn't really matter since my wife ended up cheating on me. I guess if you want to have a family life you have to pick the lesser of a few billion evils and cross your fingers.
alphamale Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 You have three kinds of people. Dicks, pussies and azzholes:laugh: DMADR....can you publish a book of all your quotes and sayings?
Pyro Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I'll jump into the discussion. Do hot girls have a harder time finding men interested in having a real relationship? Guys, if you meet a girl who is say, an 8, 9 or 10, do you consider her relationship material or casual sex only material? Do you automatically think they are shallow, high maintenance, b*tchy, easy? Do you approach them, view them, or relate to them differently than a girl who is a 6 or 7? I'd also like to hear from some of the girls out there who think their (good) looks may be making dating a challenge or problematic. Don't be shy. If you've been told by guys over and over how attractive or hot you are, but you just seem to have trouble finding a meaningful relationship, I'd like to hear your story. Please share. You would think so, but I have met many "hot" girls and it seemed like that pretty much all of them were taken. Half of what makes a girl an 8 or above is having a great personality, so if I make it to the point of knowing her enough to rate her that high, then I would consider her relationship material, but there are also women that are gorgeous with a nice personality who are not looking for anything serious. I try not to judge, but going from my past experiences, most of the women that I dated that were considered attractive by many were stuck-up and insecure b*tches. As long as I think the female is attractive and she is not with a guy, then I will try to start some sort of conversation, unless I am feeling shy, which I do sometimes.
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 DMADR....can you publish a book of all your quotes and sayings? Hes totally plagiarising.... they are all from Team America- have you seen it Alpha? I think you would love it. Yes DMADR i have been through a bit of self discovery shyt etc etc. Broken hearted a few times, sold myself short once or twice, but getting older and wiser and better at self respect. It took me a while to wade thru the jerks- i had my heart stamped on by guys that were only after one thing a few times. I have been told that i look "up for it" and am a "hot girl who isn't so hot shes unapproachable" eek! Thanks guys... All irrelevant now i have wonderboy aka manofmydreams... I didn't meet him in a bar.
alphamale Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hes totally plagiarising.... they are all from Team America- have you seen it Alpha? I think you would love it.. No I haven't....but I heard it was good.
sb129 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Oh you gotta see it. The sex scene is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I was watching it on my laptop on a crowded train (with headphones of course) and laughed out loud so much people on the train were laughing at me lauging like a loony. (i didn't notice- wonderboy had to point it out. people were also giving him sympathetic looks)
Pyro Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 =trouble. So then are you against relationships period? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So to you, a hot woman is who you find attractive. So if you believe that hot women in relationships are trouble, then you must only date women that you find unattractive.

I meant more serious shyt...like trip to Auschwitz concentration camp or leap of aeroplane behind enemy lines.....but here you go:laugh: For that Jerk debate.....Women really dont know men. Jerks are so popular b/c they have big neon sign 'Im not a coward and I can be easily dumped' over their head. There is no way girl cant see that. Yeah its a shame for a guy to sleep with a girl he has very low interest in. But I bet a girl see that but doesnt care;)

(I am not being flippant- it was) Some women know some men. I understand my BF quite well, but he is a no nonsense, tell it like it is person like I am. He is also a genuinely nice guy who has never been a player, so that makes him easier to understand. Jerks aren't popular once you have been burnt a couple of times by them! But it may take that to be able to spot them..
