numsey Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 My ex and I have been broken up for about 3 weeks now. We still talk on the phone but that is about it now. I started to try to move on and accept that it is over even though it might not be. She calls me last night and asks me to meet her for drinks cause she has something she wants to talk to me about. So I agree to meet with her. I get there and we start to shoot pool and talk, act friendly and bring up nothing about the relationship. Then things made one heck of a u-turn. She starts to tell me how hurt she is that I started to do all the things that she tried to get me to do when we were together. Go out to clubs, eat more, exercise, ect. She said that now she wonders if she was bringing me down or if it was that I just didn't have fun when I did it with her. I told her that it wasn't her, that I somehow got it into my head that I was "to old' to be doing that stuff now. That something just clicked and I realised that I'm only 28 and nowhere near old. She asked me if I had met someone new yet and I told her that I'm just enjoying myself right now and that wasn't really on my mind at the moment. Thats when she dropped the bomb of all bombs to me. She says that she has a doctors app the next day. I asked her what was wrong because she has had medical problems in the past. She breaks out in tears and says she may be pregnant. !!!!! She said that she wasn't going to tell me at first because she had miscarried once before and I took it kinda hard, but that I should know what was going on. She said if she is that she dosen't want that to be the only reason that we get back together. I couldn't even respond to her as I went into a state of shock. She asked me if she was if I was going to be there thru it all. I told her that it wasn't even a question about that. It's amazing. Just when I had started to feel a little better and felt like I was going to be alright this comes along and throws me thru a loop. Now I'm REALY lost on what to do.

Cross that bridge when you come to it. She doesn't *know* she's pregnant yet.
bridget_jones Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Was the first miscarriage planned? (I'm sorry you had to go through that, though.) Was she on the pill or anything? This type of thing always makes me wonder if she's pulling the age-old "oops, I'm pregnant" trick. Anyway keep us updated. my period can be irregular and such so maybe that's all it is.
