longlegzs80 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 I am hiding in my life. I am hiding from the unthinkable, the arguments etc. My mom and family have no clue I own part of a business. The reason why I am keeping it silent is because I know I wouldn't have any support which hurts me so much. I already know my mom or my family wouldn't support me, and my mom has already told me how disappointed she was in me because I can't get into my field. So, I am looking for some supporters out there, I want to find people who can be encouraging and understanding that this is what I want to do and this is something I am good at. PLEASE HELP!

If you want support, I think you have come to the right place, but you need to give us some more. So are you quitting your job because of this business, or what? And not to be indiscreet, but how old are you?
justagirlforever Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 I'm not entirely sure I understand either. Is it something illegal or something to be frowned upon? If not, then why on earth keep it a secret and why wounldn't your mom or family support you?

Yes, I really have no choice but to quit my job I have now to run the business and be in the office 5 days a week. I am excited about leaving my job but also nervous because I am not used to having just one job. Well the business is taking on many jobs, but not having another job added on the work load I got. My mom and I have had a discussion in the past, which makes me believe she will be really upset with me, and very disappointed. She said something like she hopes I am not using my credit to help ERic with the business. Needless to say that is what I am doing and much more. Nothing bad though or illegal. I just know I wouldn't have her support. WEll, that is that. Hopefully I gave you all enough information. And I am not a spoof.
whichwayisup Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 How old are you? And, are you still living at home? You gotta realize that your life is YOUR life. Not your mom's life. You do not need her approval. If you are happy with what road you've taken jobwise, good for you! And, if she doesn't like it - SO What? She will learn to accept it. I know, easier said than done.... You say you wouldn't have her support. You really don't have it now as she doesn't know what is going on anyway. So, how is she supportive now?
