Limerent Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Good Morning and Happy Friday to all. If you are reading this, I thank you. Last nite the BF calls me around 5 to say that he wasnt coming right home, he had to stop off somewhere to do some last minute work for people that I know. He tells me that he is waiting for his friend (who does jobs like this with him) and that he will be going over the house to finish and that he will be home. I ask him when he will be back, and he says he doesnt know, because he isnt sure how long it will take him to finish. I ask him to give me an approximate time so I can have dinner ready, as in before 8...He says yeah alright. As I am doing my thing, I hear someone outside of my door talking on their cell phone. I opened the door, and lo and behold if it isnt the friend that he was supposed to be working with!! That was around 8, and instead of jumping to conclusions, I thought perhaps his friend was meeting him back at the house and he happened to get there before my BF did. Maybe he stopped for gas. I waited. 15 minutes goes by, the friend had left by then. I start to get edgy when 30 minutes goes by, and so I called him. The message told me that the caller couldnt be reached because he was out of the coverage area. That confused me, he was supposed to be in town. But I waited and then called him again. Same message. It is now almost 9 at nite, and I still cant reach him because he wasnt inside the coverage area. Around 9, I decide to call the people he was doing work for to see if he ever showed up. No answer. Finally, around 10, he saunters in. His excuse? He was helping a friend move something, and his phone didnt have battery. I checked his phone, and its true, he didnt. But he did have battery around 6:30 or so, when he made his last call, and it wasnt to me. His friend was in the area and called and asked for his help moving something to the next town over. The thing is, even if he didnt have battery, he was only 5 minutes away. Could he not have stopped and told me? Could he not have used his friends phone? Couldnt he have stopped at a pay phone? Does anyone find any of this highly doubtful?
kimberlyk Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Do you question his whereabouts often or was this a one time thing?
LoveLace Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 If this is the first time anything like this has happened, I wouldn't read into it too much. But if there starts to be a pattern of questionable behavior, then I might wonder.
guin_girl Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 well maybe his friend came to your home because he couldn't reach him by phone either? Did you ask the friend if the job was done? Does this friend do the popover alot, or just when they already have plans set up?
