ShoeGirl Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I have been hanging out/dating with this guy for the past month or so, and we had plans to get together and drink tonight to celebrate me being done with my finals. I haven't heard from him in a few days but I thought it was just because he was trying not to bug me while I was studying. So I text him earlier and asked if we were still on for tonight and he wrote back saying that he got back together with his ex and thinks he wants to make it work with her. They broke up 3 months ago and I wasn't even aware that they were talking again. She was cheating on him the and he caught her, why would he go back to her? I don't understand guys! It's not like I was that attached to him, but it still sucks! I think I am more disappointed that I am not not doing anything tonight because I have been studying nonstop (with occasional LS breaks) for the last week straight!

You spend and invest all this time and energy on him and then just like that he decides to get back with her. It sounds like as though he was only using you as a rebound relationship, but I could be wrong. Either way it is his loos. Write this one off and move on.

I've dated women for up to six months and just disappeared with no explanation. If there is no mutual agreement of exclusivity then there is nothing.

I am hoping to catch one of my few friends left in this city (it's now SPRING BREAK!) after she gets off work but before she gets to the bar... then she'll drink with me. If I were 21 already this would be so much easier! Alpha I never said that he had any obligation to me... I just said it sucks, I am really not that attached to him so I'm not really that hurt, just more frustrated that I have bee looking forward to tonight since my life went to beyond hectic last week! I'm not sure what the weather conditions are, but whatever you do, have fun. My break was last week. It was uneventful and short unfortunately. Thats what happens when you are trying to save cash.

I thought that we could possibly be headed toward a relationship because we have been spending most of our free time together up until last weekend when I told him I needed some tome to study so that I can graduate this year, but I wouldn't have been too surprised if it didn't work out either. Like I said I am not really attached to him. I am surprised, well shocked actually, that he got back together with his ex. He has said over and over again that he wouldn't get back together with her, so I wasn't expecting that message today. It's his choice if he wants to try and make it work with the girl who has cheated on him at least once and probably will again.

Sounds to me like you have more invested in this than he did. For your next relationship SG, I recommend you take baby steps.

I think he knows that if he had called I would have given him crap for it and probably talked him out of it, because he has told me all of the crap she did. My bet is your ex and his ex will last three weeks at the most. And yes he likely will try and come back. I think my ex kind of did but in such a underhanded way I could not take him seriously. I think he wanted me to be all over him and broken hearted. I now believe the guy has serious ego issues that predated his ex. I mean, why else would he have gone back to her? Let's just say when he did half-heartedly try to see if I was still into him, ut was discouraging because it showed he totally didn't value the time we had had together as much as I did. Moral of the story: he obviously isn't the right guy for me. And thanks, yes I am feeling much better now. His investments in being the homme fatal who broke my poor little heart totally turned me off.
