A man cares more about what others think about his spouse?

Generally speaking, does a man care more about what other men think about his spouse, than a woman cares about what other women think about her spouse? If a man has a wife that many other men admire, he can be very proud. OTOH if he has a commonly known plain/boring/extremely unattractive wife, it's embarrassing to bring her with him in each public setting. A enemy may even make bad jokes to ridicule his having such a wife. Men also tend to discuss other men's spouses when no women present.

 

No so much for a woman with her husband.

 

So when a man chooses his wife, perhaps to certain degree he would consider this? How important is it to him? (yes men are different, but in general?)

Don't settle for someone less than attractive, but don't think it will be paradise with a beauty queen either.

it boggles the mind how low someone's sense of self must be in order to choose a mate based on what other men would think. There are men out there who don't do this crap but I kinda feel bad for the ones that do. It's handing over way too much control over your life.

 

I did know a guy who did this when I was a tad bit younger. Haven't heard from him in years but he was a very attractive guy whom only went after "model type" females. Actually, to be more accurate, they usually came after him... In any case we had a few drinks one night (we were good friends at the time) and he blurted out how much he hated his life.

 

He had never felt close to any of the women he dated, he only dated them because he felt like he was supposed to. He would end up getting bored with them and breaking it off. It made him feel good about himself to have something other men wanted but there was no substance to his relationships I guess. He told me that he never asked me out (I'm not all that pretty or thin and certainly not a model! Hey at least I am honest!) even though we got along famously because of his paper thin ego (in so many words). What a way to live.

Never marry a 10 ~ you're life will be Hell! If she's having a bad day ~ so will you!

 

Find you someone who's attitude is ~ "better than most ~ worse than some!"

 

Dosen't matter anyway? All the old ladies and men down at the nursing home look the same!
