Am I right, in general? A man can be very proud of his W if his friends and colleauges admire/envy his W/marriage. And he can feel very bad if his has a wife that is commonly known as plain/boring. Men also pay more attention to what kind of W some man they know has. They also tend to talk about other men's wives (in the women's absence). A enemy would make bad jokes to ridicule a man if he has an exceptionally unattractive wife. A man with a wife that every other man admires would walk with his head high...

In short, men are more opinion/reputation-sensitive about what others think about their spouses than women. This is especially the case in some established men, or men who are fairly public.
