Daughter is sick again! She came in from church saying she had a headache. She didn't have a fever when she left and was feeling fine. When I checked her temperature it was 102.8. She might have a bug or the flu. Our dr's office isn't open today cause it is Sunday. I will have to see how she is in the morning and then probably take her to the dr. I gave her motrin and she is resting. She has some congestion also. By the way my stomach upset was nerves it only lasted 2 days. Our neighbors little girl she played with was sick couple of weeks ago. She had a virus and run a high fever with throwing up. She also had a ear infection. She didn't play with her till she got better. I think it is this crazy weather you never know if it is going to be cold or hot from one day to the next .

Be sure to give your daughter lots of juices and water as well as some aspirin every six hours for the fever (I'm not sure Motrin will do the trick with fever). Monitor her fever and if it gets any higher, take her in to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Otherwise, get her to the doctor in the morning.

DH went to get his blood pressure prescription renewed from his doc's office last week and told her about having had the flu last month, but with an unusual symptom: a severe headache, almost like a migraine. Doc said that a lot of people had reported the same symptoms (bad headache, vomiting, diahrreah, dehydrations, weakness) but it was the same stomach virus making its rounds from last fall.

so keep your little one hydrated, and rested, too – hopefully she'll snap back quickly from that bug.

Its probably a stomach bug. Im glad that you are taking her to the docs tomorrow. The doc should give her antibiotics to help clear it up and she will be fine again in no time :)

How old is she? Give her peptobismol to help with the upset stomach - that has always helped me in the past.

They won't give her antibotics for a cold, or especially the throw-ups. Unless it's a bacterial infection, antibotics won't help. Rest, sleep and drinking fluids is what will help her. And ofcourse alot of TLC from her mommy and daddy.

Sassy, hopefully by tomorrow she'll feel abit better.

Been a bad year for sickness I guess. I have heard of people picking up things or keeping things, from places they never even thought of. Most of the time it is airborne, but sometimes if a person continues to get sick, it could have something to do with something around them that might be causeing the trigger of the sickness.

She might get it if it is a viral infection but only Sassy can keep us updated hehe.

Hope she is doing ok.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to wait it out . I think it is a bug. Her fever is only 99 right now. It did run up to almost 103 last night. Dr always tells me it is good for them to run a fever they are fighting whatever is going on. She always tells me that is a good sign. I hate to run to the dr everytime she is sick. I think it is passing . No more throwing up and she is eating more than yesterday still pushing the fluids though.

You mean bacterial. They don't give antibotics for viral infections........

Exactly they will not give an antibotic for something going on viral cause it will be a waste of time prescribing them.

some doctors do...... which is IMHO a serious mistake.

Should prescribe Pez instead.... same effect and less overall harm.

Pez...I haven't had those in alonggg time! :p

Sassy, weren't you sick last week with a stomach bug or something yourself? Maybe she got it from you?

Yup and that's why we have SUPER BUGS. I know some Dr's give antibotics, but I think it's to shut up their patients. MANY people whine and complain enough, the DR will give in and prescribe it.

I love PEZ!

It's most likely the flu, which causes high spiking fevers. Rotovirus typically causes a low-grade fever and a cough; flu symptoms are more intense and usually trigger stomach symptoms. She'll be okay, but monitor the fever to make sure it goes down after about two days, and definitely take her to the doc if the fever spikes above 102F for any length of time.

I thought it was stomach bug but I think it was nerves. It went away after a day or two. My stomach was only upset when i was. Besides i never ran a fever or threw up or had body aches like she did yesterday.
