My husband and I decided for Valentine's day we would just go out for dinner and pass on the gift thing, but I found out that he had bought an item for himself and says he got one for me too. He just forgot to give it to me, and then couldn't find it, which is weird. I tried to get him to admit that he never got me the gift, but he swears he did however, today I found the receipt which only listed one item - the one he's already using. I guess my question is what would you do or how would you confront him about it. I'm really mad that he has lied and sworn that he's telling the truth. I would really appreciate some feedback. What does this mean that he thinks of everyone else but me?

I'd go out and buy myself something that was twice as much.

Then if he had something to say - I'd slyly tell him that I wouldn't have had to replace his gift had he given it to me.

About the not thinking of me - I'd think of myself - in extraordinary ways - until he realized it'd be a better idea - cheaper too - for him to handle it instead of leaving it up to me.
