What are good things to carry or wear that lend themselves to having conversations struck up with one?

LOL at the title.

Try a puppy.

A Harley Davidson shirt has always worked for me, but you have to like that type. And have more knowledge than "I've been on one."

If you get past the "prop", ask questions about the person you are interested in. Many people like to talk about themselves.

Brushfire, are you male or female? I'm curious because each gender can have some differences in interests or what they consider eye-catching.

Dunno. What's so funny about it?

Well, the only motorcycles I've used were "rice burners", not "hawgs", and it's been some years since I've done any riding, so I can't claim any expertise. :p Are you a Harley-Davidson enthusiast?

I'm male.

Just another note; I've never had anyone react to a T-shirt.

Hmm, I used to react to t-shirts all the time... in college.

How old are you?

I am 27-- now I react to books (in cafe's)... but since you are a guy-- you can't be all carrying random stuff around...

I get the feeling you want us to make you a list.. say...

1. a carrot

2. a bottle of water

3. a lamp

4. a baby

5. a bent playing card...

I agree with the earlier poster-- you should speak to a woman about herself-- she probably has some prop.-- talk about it-- that has to be easier than carrying around your own carrot... maybe give her some polite compliment... and wait for her to smile... when she does-- slide her another compliment (about her beautiful smile) and introduce yourself.

These would probably start a nice conversation if you carried them:

-A big platter of buffalo wings with blue cheese dip

-an open bottle of Moet and 2 champagne glasses

-basket of golden retriever puppies

-a big wad or two of $100 bills

I'll think of more, this is just a start...

the only "props" a true player needs are his eyes and mouth...

Well, maybe if he crossed his eyes and wore lipstick it would start an interesting conversation.

I'm the same age as you are.

Well it need not be a list, but I'd like to know what stuff does have a reasonably high percentage chance of generating conversation.

How have these worked for you? What specifically happened in your case when you had these around or on hand?

I agree with the earlier poster too, but how to talk to someone is a separate matter. The rest is stuff I already do. It's so low-percentage it's sickening, but again, that's a matter for a separate thread.

Maybe that's the case, but try as I might, I can't seem to recall where I wrote anything about asking for anyone's ideas of true players.

You were asking about meeting chicks right?

--Hmm... rarely do I feel inclined to speak to random strangers (cute or otherwise) but if I were compelled-- anything they had in their hands would spark a conversational idea... honestly... an ex of mine-- carried a playboy on our first date and that sparked a serious lecture.

* Uh... it was a joke list. Sorry

* Sorry, you should try online dating. At least you know they are looking for luuuuuuuve. I am actually cute and all and people speak to me all the time. It is only irritating-- I can understand why you have low percentages and all...

Can people here offer some more information on this topic that isn't a joke?

Thanks very much!
