Is he gay or bi/And did he use clean needles when he used to do drugs

My Boyfriend is a recovering addict to drugs had money to buy the drugs he made a lot of money at the time. He has always been a bit ecentric and he loves having sex with me 2-3 times a night. Sometimes during sex he asks me to do strange things to him like scratch him,or slap him,sometimes he even asks me to strangle him and then let go,I wont of course hes recentally divorced and said he was loyal to his wife during their marriage but the last three years of it they never had sex because he was to caught up in his drug use and she wouldnt have sex with him. He says I am the first and only person he has had sex with in 3 years. He has been married twice and has four children I catch him looking at women all the time. Im getting a little nervous because last week during sex he said baby Im gay and said he like anal sex with guys,and then when we were done having sex he said he was just kidding,I asked him about it a few more times and he said baby do I act gay or look gay to you. He has always liked having sex with me and getting me off different ways. I am also a little nervous about the past drug use because recentally I found out he was an IV drug user he continues to tell me always used clean needles. What do you think,Im losing sleep over all this but I really love him.
