I didn't really know which forum to put this under, but I think he just killed his potential at a second chance, so I guess this is as good as any.

I was out with a few friends on the weekend, who are also friends with my ex. They were talking about how he's on a a trip to Europe right now. Apparently he told them he was looking into soliciting a hooker while he's in Amsterdam, because prostitution is legal there, and he thinks that it's "safe".

 I immediately got sick to my stomach thinking that I fell for someone with such low morals, but then was happy that he is now an ex. My other friend then said that he would consider it if he were single too (in front of his gf who was not impressed) and it started a big debate.

I would never be with someone knowing that they had been with a prostitute, whether in a country where it's legal or not. This just makes me really paranoid, because it's not a question you'd ask someone you're dating, but I think a girl should have the right to know. I thought I really knew this guy, but apparently not.

What's the general opinion on this? I don't even know how I'm going to talk to him after this, I feel so repulsed by him, and I will be forced to see him again at social functions.

what did you want him to spend his money on in amsterdam? a pair of klogs?

What is the "blow" reference? Cocaine?

How is paying someone to have sex any different in your mind than liquoring up some slut at a bar, or baiting a broad with fancy jewelry, dinners, and travels?

Prostitution is the oldest profession known to mankind... and it's legal in (at least) one state.

. . . would you stake your life on the accuracy of the statement? I think you need to ask him if he said it and if he did if he was serious.

What if he dated a prostitute but didn't know she was a prostitute at the time?

That's not the issue at hand; however, I wouldn't be too keen on that either. I think guys who manipulate girls into the sack, or buy their way between their legs are filthy, and I want no part of that.

Being that he is an ex at this point, it really isn't my business. Only if we get to the point of rekindling will I even approach it.

To protect my own health, and that of any potential children in the future. I would be very hesitant. A lot of STD's can lay dormant for months or years before any symptoms or positive test results.

I just put that in the title for the catchiness factor. He's not into drugs, only hookers apparently.

That's really interesting. just curious- if you ABSOLUTELY had to get back together with your ex, that your life depended on it- if you knew he:

Slept with 25 women in a year;

or

Slept with a prostitute in a year-

Which would you choose?

I would never have to make that decision, because I'm not the type of girl who ever HAS to be with anyone. I'd stay single.

That, or I'd start playing for the other team! :lmao:

No, but if you HAD to choose, which would you choose?

Personally, I think it could be worse. It's not a good scene... but it could be worse. Doesn't really mean he's a bad person just, you know, messy.
