BlueEyedSarah Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Hey all, just a little update. I am here in Canada for 6 months visiting the guy I like/love, I am unsure if any serious relationship will come out of this friendship we have. I guess its something I will just have to sit back and see what happens and not worry about and not wait around for it to happen. He seems to act more intrested in it as a friendship for a long time rather than a relationship. I think we are getting on ok, could be better I guess. I feel a bit disapointed as I was expecting something to become more for us as I have known him for 4 years now. I now realise its something that may not become more and I have to deal with that hurt. I'm just rambling a bit here, but just thought I would let eveyone know I arrived here safe on Sunday.
catrocks Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Yay, I'm glad you're there, that's awesome. I hope you manage to figure him out! 6 months in Canada is good anyways, I like Canada, and whatever happens with this guy, at least you know you'll have a friend for life if nothing else Ooh and just wondered where in Surrey you live, I lived there for about 10 years near Guildford, I loved it down there!
Sweetie2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 That's cool that you get 6 months with your man. I hope it does turn into everything that you want it to be, but at least you went there with an open mind. I've been with my man for 2 months, with one left to go, and it's been amazing...I don't know what I'll do without him when I return to the states . But anyway, the long visits are always the best! Good luck, stay safe
BlueEyedSarah Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Ooh and just wondered where in Surrey you live, I lived there for about 10 years near Guildford, I loved it down there! Guildford is not far from where I live in Surrey. I live in the middle of Reigate and Sutton.
magichands Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 So what do you think of Canada? So far, I mean. First impressions. You are so lucky that you only have to stay there for six months.
BlueEyedSarah Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 So what do you think of Canada? So far, I mean. First impressions. You are so lucky that you only have to stay there for six months. I like it in Canada, its a pretty country, but lots of snow! My shoes are not very good grip for this kind of weather. I am amazed at how much diffrent it is from England too! Not only is it bigger roads and driving on the other side but the food is diffrent and products are diffrent. The slang is also very diffrent. In conversations I feel like a little kid saying "whats that mean? Oh right that! In England we call that....."

I noticed the difference in the smaller roads when I came here, and my boyfriend did when he came to the states. Interesting....

Is there any country you DO like Magichands? You don't live in the country of your birth, is it safe to say you don't like that one either?

I hear that Switzerland is lovely this time of year. Well, if I could get past the way they hoard all those illicit gains. Yeah, I guess I need to find an island somewhere.

Where at in Canada? My BF lives in Ontario, about 2 hrs from the US border. He wants me to move up there with him and I was there to visit with him once so far and it's beautiful but I just still would much rather him move here:p
Trialbyfire Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Since I live in this area, allow me to suggest one thing. There are far more fun areas to live in such as Kitsilano, Yale Town and some areas on the North Shore. Surrey is either for rednecks or for families, depending on which section of Surrey you currently live in. Sorry but I don't know Surrey well because I tend to stay clear of it. If you'd like fun touristy places to get out of town for, try the Whistler/Blackholm Resort. Excellent skiing and fun night life. If you go during the summer, it's also a blast. Btw, the snow you've experienced is very unusual for us. It rarely snows more than once a year and sometimes never. The last two years have been very unusual.

Surrey is a county in England, that is the one we were talking about not the one in Canada (if that was the one you were talking about!! only two i know of). No rednecks there, just lots of rich people lol

Yeah, I guess I need to find an island somewhere. Switzerland's nice but SO FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE. I wouldn't go back, had some bad experiences there. I'd rather go to Austria or Italy anyday

He wants me to move up there with him and I was there to visit with him once so far and it's beautiful but I just still would much rather him move here:p I'm visiting Prince George, BC.
Sweetie2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I'm visiting Prince George, BC. Is it nice there? I've always wanted to visit BC, but I live close to the Quebec border, so that's pretty far away...let me know what you think... how's the relationship going, everything still cool between you too, any interesting stories you'd care to share?
Trialbyfire Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Ah, okay. Not much to do in Prince George...it's kind of...remote...

Prince George is quite a nice quiet area. Its not bad at all. And how its going with the guy - Hmm... Its going good, not bad, but he does say things to me or act a certain way which makes me wonder if he has more than friendship feelings. I am not going to spring up a conversation about that though. I am just going to carry on being he's friend.
Island Girl Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I hear that Switzerland is lovely this time of year. Well, if I could get past the way they hoard all those illicit gains. Yeah, I guess I need to find an island somewhere. TONGA!

What was your relationship before this? --- How'd you meet?
BlueEyedSarah Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Are you staying with him these 6 months? What was your relationship before this? --- How'd you meet? Yes I am staying with him for 6 months. The relationship was online like pretty much everyday talking to each other online. We were close online. We shared a lot with each other, told each other our feelings. I met him about 4 years ago and kept in contact with each other though MSN (webcam and micraphone). Now in person its very diffrent as we have to get used to each other. He does things which makes me wonder if he has more than frindship feelings for me. He is not the kind to tell me he's feelings and when I ask he gets mad at that question. He has nothing to hide from me at all, he has no other friends who are girls. If he was dating another girl I doubt I would be able to stay here with him. When I am asleep, he comes home from work and before he goes to bd he comes in and thanks me for what I have done around the house (housework). He strokes my hair, kissed me on the lips while I was asleep, called me sweety and he's girl. (No he isn't trying to get in my pants). When I say I am asleep I really mean pretending I am asleep... I think I am just trying to get my hopes up by thinking he likes me more than a friend, but I am just thinking negative and think as if. I would like something more with him but I don't understand about relationships, I'm too scared to commit myself into one. Guess I'm not ready for a relationship right now
Island Girl Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Maybe you aren't ready for a relationship - but he is going really slowly too. Kissing you on the lips when you are sleeping - that is not a friendship move. I think it is kind of creepy unless he was also kissing me when I am awake But - I guess some would see it as sweet too. How old are you and how old is he?

I am just going to carry on being he's friend. Before you leave there, do you plan to figure out how he feels, and how you feel, and how things will continue? He strokes my hair, kissed me on the lips while I was asleep, called me sweety and he's girl. That does sound like a more than friends move- maybe he's hinting. I know if someone I didn't consider more than a friend did that, I'd ask him about it, but if my BF did it, I'd consider it sweet. Does he know your only pretending to sleep, maybe, and that's why he does it?
BlueEyedSarah Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Before you leave there, do you plan to figure out how he feels, and how you feel, and how things will continue? I am not going to ask him, I used to ask him those kinds of questions like where we stand in our friendship/relationship and he got fed up with me asking, so I am leaving it for him to say something. That does sound like a more than friends move- maybe he's hinting. I know if someone I didn't consider more than a friend did that, I'd ask him about it, but if my BF did it, I'd consider it sweet. Does he know your only pretending to sleep, maybe, and that's why he does it? He has now started doing it while I am awake too. He strokes my hair and my face and talks to me sweetly and whispers. Its nice, I have no problem with it, it makes me feel good. I did ask why he does these kinds of things and he said because he likes me. Though he could mean he likes me as a friend or likes me more than a friend. I do not ask what he means because he does not like to get into what he can not give me right now. He told me to let it be what it is and let it become what it will become. He can not promise me that it will become more than friends. I'm not even thinking that much about what he does anymore or what he says. Guess I have turned myself off to how he is acting with me when he does that because during the day he seems diffrent. During the day he is more stressed and has things on he's mind so he gets frustrated and quite often teases me. I don't mind him teasing me but it gets to be too much sometimes. I have told him this too a few days ago but it seems as though he is starting it up again, so I will probably have to mention it again.
