In terms of phsyical attractiveness, is the face or body more important?

For your dating/sexual partner, when it comes to looks only, do facial features become the first thing you look for or is the body the first in terms of importance? Would you date a facially attractive partner who scored very low on the body because of 1.) obesity or moderate weight gain 2.)flat or small breasts and buttocks, unattractively shaped figure, etc. 3.) other; or a bodily attractive partner that scored low on facial features because of[whatever you prefer]? If you couldn't choose either, would you rather go for someone average head to toe? Undecided?

Well I'm a woman and usually it is the face and body that attracts me. Not saying either has to be perfect, but I look at the whole package and then the personality.

initially, it's something about looks ... I'm a sucker for blue eyes, so that's what I usually notice first. But mostly, the people who hold my attention are the ones with open, vivacious or playful personalities. That's a huge turn-on when meeting men, no matter how old or what they look like!

Physical attraction is ALWAYS the first thing you notice.

It is what will make you get that feeling that you want to approach the person, want to now about them...then comes the personality.

After this, you may find that the personality is crap, and someone that is yeah good looking person but not someone maybe you had been attracted to before will be able to talk and chat and connect on many levels. This is when you start to find them attractive.

A persons figure can make a difference I suppose, but not enough to have to make them change or be any better for you, if you like them, then you will like the whole lot, and not at some later date want them to change to be suited to what you want.

The Face. The body goes thru a lot of changes, the face at least remains somewhat what you are used to.

Very specifically - the eyes. The eyes have the soul & passion and say it all. They can't lie. They eyes that have a naughty twinkle and seductive lure.

Yep - the eyes do it for me :D

The a$$ is what I`m talkin` `bout. A woman can get away with an awful lot if she has a fine a$$.

Yeah, nice, but I'm asking specifically looks only. Personality, intelligence, etc. are all important as well, but I'm just looking at one aspect to see what people prefer more if they had to choose (or undecided) when thinking what physically attracts them.

To me it would be the face. I have been attracted to women who were considered a little bit overweight because they had cute facial features....they didn't have to be absolutely gorgeous...different things attract different people.

My feeling is that woman are generally more attracted to the body and men are more attracted to the face.

I agree. Personally, I am much more partial to a guys face than their body.

Face! Definitely the face.

The face definitely. She has got to have great eyes and a smile to go with the eyes.

I don't believe Alch and Pink. Women always favor the body over the face

Not true at all!!!!

There is nothing worse than those ripped guys you see in mens fitness magazines, and fireman calanders with the haggered, unattractive faces.

Having said that, I wouldn't date an overweight man.

An average body is fine as long as he has a handsome face, nice shaped nose, bright eyes, proportionate features and defined cheek bones :p

What about the others? All the females on this thread has picked face over body........

So what about the guys who are out of shape or have excess weight, but are still considered attractive by some women?

Both. But if they carry a few extra pounds and carry it well then that works for me.

Yes, let's all pretend it's not all about the loins, or the most striking advertisement of great genes - a sexy waist to hip ratio.

Hmm....that's a tough question. I mean you have to be attracted to their face. It's what you look at.

Then the body, well I will say that if there is something that sticks out that I don't like, I will notice it before the face.

So really it all depends. Sorry but that's what I'm going with.

Definitely face. I've gone out with guys who had nondescript...even rather doughey...bodies...but magnificent faces. I'm also a sucker for twinkley blue eyes. :o
