TheSilent1 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Hey, looking for some advice on whether or not this girl likes me. I plan to talk to her if she does but if not, I plan to avoid the hurt all together. Over the past 6 months, I started to notice her staring at me. She seems very shy around me although she isn't really that shy to anyone else. When we are alone in the same area together, she obviously seems nervous. She will lick her lips, bite on her nails or anything like that along with a couple glances here and there. We've made eye contact with each other before and I can usually see her eyes widen when she sees me. I've also heard from someone who knows me say that she said "I wish I could have gotten to know him" and was reffering to me. Now I know what all of you are going to say but there is a catch I guess. This type of thing only seems to happen 50% of the time when I walk by her or when I'm around her. Sometimes she ignores me for weeks at a time and then she starts doing those things I mentioned above for a couple weeks. Or some times its completely random. One day she does it and the next she ignores me. I see her every day but because of her only doing it 50% of the time, I'm alittle hesitant. I plan to ask her (if she likes me) anyway if the timing is right but I'd like to see what you guys think. PS: Also if it helps, here's alittle be more information. I asked her out 3 years ago and she said no. But I know people can change their minds within that time. And also I'm a junior in highschool.

You can't enter situations like this with the attitude that I'm only going to do it if I know the outcome. How boring would life be if that were the case?

Trust me, my friends aren't helping. And the guy who told me that she said that moved recently so I can't get anything out of him. "The only way you're going to find out is to just ask her out. Lucasarts Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 ask her out, if she says yes then she was simply trying to play games with you in order for you to pursue and ask her out if she says no, then she was just playing with you or playing with an idea of what it would have been like being with you 3 years ago, but that is all. but i think she is just tryin to play a game to see if you'll go after her and i suggest you do my friend. *shakes the magic 8 ball* SIGNS POINT TO YES gl kid

cygny Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 she sounds like she may be shy. why don't you try to make small talk with her, or flirt a little before making a date? tease her and see how she responds. i remember liking a guy in high school and i got sooo nervous around him. make it easier on both of you and set the tone. make it relaxed and inject humour. show her that you've noticed her and are easy to be with and are interested in her personality and what she's doing in school. then if she's responsive you can casually ask her to a game or something.

She smiled and stared at me while we talked. Her voice was VERY quiet when I talked to her (possibly shyness, or still surprised?) . I didn't get a chance to ask her if she liked me since I kind of just walked along side her until she left, which was probably a 10 second span. But maybe what I said helps alittle.

LOL but she sounded like just being shy - maybe shes waiting for you to make the move, sorry, most girls preferred to be wooed than to make the first move.

It sounds confusing after I reread your thread.-especially when mentioned how she flirts with you and disregards you at other times. As for my self I am glad thos days are over with; what ever happen to jotting down notes to each other, if you are shy! If it does not progress to the next level; it was not ment to be. Good luck.

I don't know why she would be hinting she likes me for 2 weeks, then ignore me for 4-5 days then go back to hinting again. I mean I've proven time and time again she likes me but I don't know why she does that. I doubt she's scared that I don't like her because I have shown signs I've been interested. Like when I talked to her. But she just ignores me like that for that amount of time. She just walks by with a dazed look on her face or focuses her attention on friends instead of staring and hinting at me like usual. Anyone have any reason for why she does this?
realeve20 Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Ask her out in secret. She may not want anyone to know that she likes you or that you like her! Take it one step at a time and she will come out in her comfort zone.
