So I gave up on him and told him it doesn't matter anymore. Then he out of the blue texted me to suggest a time to go out. But yet he still said we'll confirm on the day itself. What's up with him?! I don't even care to meet anymore.

He's probably without any dating prospects that he fancies, which leaves only you for him to go out with. Dump the dirtbag. He doesn't even give off that vibe. It's like he didn't even want to be on online dating in the first place. All sorts of people out there.
