Woggle Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 My wife and I celebrated five years of a great marriage yesterday and we had a great time. I got us a high roller helicopter tour in Atlantic City which pretty much takes you around the Jersey coastline. After that we want back around my way and I took her to a great italian restaurant. After that we went on the boardwalk and I proposed to her again by the bench where we first met. She nearly cried and there was a crowd of a few people sort of cheering us on. After that we went back to our place and barely got an hour of sleep. To think I almost ruined this with my stupid issues.
lacoqueta Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Awwww good for you!! Glad to see you were able to get past the issues you were having before and get back on track to planning your special day! You did a good job!
gaius Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Congratulations man, great to hear you both had a wonderful time. Keeping a marriage happy for 5 years is a commendable accomplishment in this day and age.
Cee Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I was worried for you with your previous posts, but maybe you needed to vent a little before your big day. You pulled out all the stops for your wife. That is the most romantic anniversary celebration I've ever heard of. Congratulations
carhill Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Congratulations and thanks for paying it forward. I hope you and your beloved enjoy many, many more.
quankanne Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 woo-hoo, somebody GOT SOME!!!! :p:p seriously, though, I'm glad it turned out so well. And it makes me really proud of you guys who go the extra mile to commemorate an anniversary instead of just a last-minute card and possibly flowers. You're a great husband, Woggle

Well done, Woggle (although for me personnally the helicopter tour would be a reason for divorce - after 5 years my H should know that I am afraid of heights )! Glad you had a great time.
Ms. Joolie Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Happy Anniversary and congratulations on your 5 years together! May your years together in marriage make up for all the ones before. May the love that is possible in your marriage grant you a great future. May all your perseverence and dedication to your marriage reap unimaginable gifts for you now.
2sunny Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 woot! that's awesome Wog! you have come so far - i'm so happy for you! :):):):)
Author Woggle Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 The weather was perfect as well. It rained all week but it was nice yesterday. I don't know when we will renew our vows but we both agree that it will be on the east coast this time since the original wedding was in California at her parents house.

Art_Critic Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 5 years today is a great feat Woggle... seems like you guys have some pretty good staying power. By the way.. great move on the copter ride.. wow..
Cee Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Care to tell the story of how you first met your future wife on the Atlantic City boardwalk. You've probably told it before on LS, but can you tell it again. Thanks.
Author Woggle Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 It was actually the Seaside Heights boardwalk. I love within walking distance and one day I was taking a walk and I notice her standing by a bench watching the waves go by and I go up and talk to her. To be perfectly honest I was in player mode at the time and I was wanted some fun with her but once I got to know her I fell in love. We went to Atlantic City because that is the only place in the Jersey Shore area where the helicopters take off from. It's only an hour drive from here. They sometimes offer them here but you get a quick ride around town and then land. The ones in Atlantic City are much better.
welikeincrowds Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 It was actually the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Oh, you mean the Jersey Shore? Did you guys go to Karma after? No but really, great story
Author Woggle Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Oh, you mean the Jersey Shore? Did you guys go to Karma after? No but really, great story Yes that Boardwalk and the MTV show shows a very small part of it. No we did not go to Karma. It is a club for college kids here on summer vacation.

Wogs, you're such a romanic and loving guy to go all out and make this anniversary really special! I'm so happy too, that you didn't let the bad stuff that you keep readin (if I had a fly swatter, I'd swat you every time you peaked at that stuff) get in the way and ruin your anniversary. Gotta ask, could you and your wife walk OK the next day??
