bzoe Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 its like.. 5:30 in the morning. I'm tired and I can't find my cell phone. I have a droid which has an app .. where if you text "Where's my droid" it will turn the sound on and ring it as loud as possible so you can find your phone yours truly mindlessly texts the ex's number from the computer instead of her own. I sat here for like a min thinking "why dont i hear my phone" then comes the dawning "OH S***" ..check the sent messages and yes. i did. so i immediately follow with a one text apology explanation I'm supposed to be on strict NC and i think he's gunna think this was an excuse to contact him :'( my ex was mean as hell on top of the breakup and even though he checked in randomly yesterday, i really dont need this oh and it doesnt help that he has the same phone i do. bc i bought it for him and helped him set that feature up with my luck. it woke him up. bonus points if it woke the girl he replaced me with up too. you guys.. i just wanna hide in here for a while :'(

Part of being NC is feeling like you have your power back. In reality they actually hold no power over you whatsoever. It's only in your head. I felt like that for the better part of a month after the breakup. But NC really does help. Shake your head, call yourself a clutz but that's all.

I guess I'm just trying to keep what pieces of dignity I have left. My ex changed so much, I cannot accurately guess any kind of reaction. all i've got is how he's been acting lately which is.. really badly but.. when you say he has no power over me.. I realize your right. thanks a lot. I think I'll be able to fall asleep before the sun comes up after all

I'm only just coming out of that deep dark tunnel now. But I have got out despite those early days when the world could've ended for all I cared. You will get out and like millions before us we will be happy and loved and love again, I promise. Try and keep that in mind and let time do its thing. Patience and time.
D78 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Despite having my Pixi for 6 months or so, I still occasionally mess up the touch screen dialing. Before I had deleted my ex from my phone, I tried to call my parents and accidentally dialed him. I waited, ring, ring... hello. I responded with the dumbest "why is my ex boyfriend at my parents house?" hello.. you know, the stupid hello you instinctively blurt out when the wrong person answers the phone. I was sooo embarrassed. I bet he doesn't even remember. And, since your ex was mean to you, you get accidental revenge not healthy, but funny none the less.

I would have been hitting this nightly at 2 or 3 am for a while I think I might even start setting this up for people I might not like later. Other posters are right. No worries. We all do stuff like this and worse sometimes. Don't go beating yerself up over it.

Keep remembering what a jerk he's been and you won't feel stupid for long.
Trovador Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hey, I received once the receipt love cards websites issue when you send one of these cards. Something like "your card was sent to NameofEx, mail... etc"... I flipped out because not only I hadn't send that damn card (I used to though), I was in NC for about two months... I hoped it was just a mistake of the guys at that site, but a few days later my ex mailed me saying she just coudn't find the card I had sent her... I didn't answer... I broke NC with my most recent ex (a lot of them, really ha ha) because she parked her car right behind mine, so close that the bumpers touched each other (hey, a kind of subliminal message here?) so it was impossible to move my car and as luck wanted it, I really had to use the vehicle (I usually don't move the car the whole day), so I had to tell her that please she moved back her car. Now we are back together but until today I wonder if she did it on purpose. On the other hand, I've been contacted by my exes by mistake and it's being no big deal, they have sounded embarassed enough so I don't think twice about it, even if I was in the receiving end of the break up... So, OP, chin up, we all do things like those with our exes and believe me, I have done very stupid things, so don't worry...
