Hi all.

My gf and i split at my request about 6 weeks ago. I was getting my divorce and found it tough, and didn't handle it well, so said it was over. I knew within a day that i'd got it wrong.

We had a few weeks of not good talking, but i've made all the changes she ever wanted.

Now i see her maybe twice a week. She says we need to just be friends, and see if she can get over the anger before we can have another chance. She is very cold and distant with me.

What should i do?

If you really want to be with her and are ready for a relationship then take it slow and steady. If she just wants to be friends for now then try that. Prove that you care and are genuine in how you feel about her. Prove that she can trust you. If you push her too hard, she may well back off further.

If however you feel that this is asking too much of you then maybe you should walk away now before you both get hurt.

Thanks Anne

I believe she is worth it for sure, and i can understand that some of my actions before would have given her doubt.

She has said that she has shut me out of her love, at least while she deals with it in her head.

I'm trying to work out if its better to have no contact while she does that, or show her what she means, which is hard when she is being very cold with me.

Just been out for 4 hours. Took her to a castle and had cream tea in the grounds. We were at last, comfortable in each others company as the time went on.

She is still very much just about being friends. I invited her to a dinner dance next sat, but she won't go to that, saying its too much when we are not sorted out yet.

But today at least we managed good conversation and had a laugh or two.
